I can easily imagine a pterosaur going after a human.

Already doing all that my friend. As far as ‘thinking about shots and masks’ how in the hell can you NOT think about them with the BS coming here by vaxxers, in MSM from willing journalists and every day drive time radio. Where have you been?

I’m in north Georgia and we haven’t had even 1% of the BS mask nonsense reported or the crippling deaths? Deaths from the ‘Vid? Yeah....NONE OF ANYONE I KNOW OR SEE, and that includes my grand daughter who had it and my daughter....

—”We have about 5-10 birds in today’s world, with wingspans larger than that of the pterosaur found in Ireland.”

Our daughter was a cell tower worker and tower rescue instructor. Before you can work on a tower you are required to take classes in tower rescue, she was the instructor.

This rule arose after a worker was attacked by a large hawk, slipped, and broke his leg in the latticework tower near McHenry Il. And well above the reach of any bucket lift.

The Chicago Fire Department was the nearest rescue team, ~50 miles distant!
Hours and hours to get him down.

Now they take them to a tower and practice for such an event.

She later worked with the attack victim.
After the grandkids arrived she moved to a more terrestrial line of work.

spotted a large hawk with a still-twitching squirrel pinned down to the ground

A couple of years ago, I was driving down the street and something flashed in front of me. I stopped the car, not knowing what that was. It turned out to be an eagle carrying a live cat in its talons.

That cat was fighting for its life; but, it lost. The eagle just held it down for a few secs, then flew off with it, probably to it's nest.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and I get an email from our neighborhood group telling me that some woman is looking for her cat which disappeared a week or so ago. It had a link, so I went to the link and there it was, the cat that I had seen losing a fight with an eagle. It was the color of the fur (calico) that hit my memory bank and I was right back to that day watching that eagle take that cat.

Now, my dilemma. Do I tell this woman that an eagle ate her beloved pet cat, or do I just let her think that it got hit by a car or something. I chose the coward's route and did not tell her. I just didn't want to be the one to tell this lady that an eagle ate her cat.

I avoid as much news media as possible.

Also staying in scripture always helps.

Update: The hawk previously had the squirrel over in my neighbor’s yard. I just came home a little while ago from errands and discovered the squirrel carcass between my house and the neighbor’s...a good 50 feet from the scene of the “crime”. The hawk didn’t eat much...just the brains! My dog was with me, and trying to get at it, so I scooped the squirrel up in a plastic bag and deposited it in the trash. I dislike squirrels...but that was a rough way to go for the little fella...

Except for the mention of the quetzcoatlus (sp?) thing, no one wants to mention the thunderbirds.
I, for one, believe that some Native Americans (post 1000 AD) actually were familiar with mastodons and thunderbirds. (But not the T-birds from Ford)

“Do I tell this woman?” Yes. A coyote ate my neighbor’s cat and I showed my neighbor the half-eaten cat collar. He was appreciative. Closure.

It was not a nasty alley cat. It was someone's pampered pet. Although, she did let it roam. As I stated in my original post, this was an eagle, bald eagle. Large enough?
