Without a doubt, being a police officer is one of the most difficult and dangerous job on the planet. One has to admire those who take on the job. The American left has made its contempt of our police abundantly clear for several years now. Encouraging the BLM riots, excusing the damage done, decreeing no punishment for those who did billions of dollars in property destruction over the summer of 2020 was their coin of the realm. Lacking common sense and any skill at predicting the consequences of idiotic policies, they have doubled down on stupid as cities like NY, Chicago, DC, and LA rack up homicides committed by career criminals repeatedly let loose on an unsuspecting public.
On a daily basis innocent victims are attacked, injured or killed by violent perpetrators who have been released by cavalier lefty judges who have become self-appointed social justice warriors.

So how do we explain the fact that in countries around the world, Australia, UK, US, France, Belgium, Austria, and Canada, the police, those who were not fired for refusing the vaccine, have taken the opportunity to act like tyranny’s handmaidens rather than protectors of the people, their essential charge, the reason they signed up for the job? In Canada, a few have sided with the truck drivers’ cause, but the rest seem to enjoy the opportunity to roust good, law-abiding, non-violent protesters.

Deep State has come between Americans and their teachers.

We’ve discussed for 20 plus years which side the cops would take when the SHTF. Interesting to see it okay out in reality. Turns out the urban cops are street thugs for the leftists (also hated by leftist rift raft) and the rural police seem to be on our side. All alphabet agencies are anti-American. Including the agent reading this thread. 😜
Police corruption and brutality started about a week after we made police. They’ve never been on our side. Always saw civilians as the enemy. And shouldn’t be trusted.
That last is absolutely true. The quality of the recruits in our local force has taken a huge nose dive as compared to two years ago. This is directly attributable to BLM.
If you fight alongside a tyrant you are the tyrant. Uniform be damned.

The Thin Blue Line was never real. That was agitprop nonsense to make us think we need them and them think we’re less than them and need them. “Worship us, for we are your Thin Blue Line”, and then you worshiped police, and now you’re wonder how you landed in a police state.

I do not “revere” cops. They are people and capable of wrong doing like anyone else.
The problem is that lawmakers have made everyone a criminal with petty totalitarian edicts like “mandates”. Even a restaurant owner has become a criminal if he fails to check a person’s health status. Well, here come the cops to shut you down and fine you.
The real criminals get set free.
I have some experience with the Thin Blue Line, its best and its worst.
I can keep a level head on the subject,
I value what we used to have and wish we had it now.

Why do we revere the police that will do the tyrant’s bidding?
Government and police is part of that intend to be feared. Police is pretty common “them” vs. “cilvilians” attitude, respect my authorituh!
Can be good guys one day, and mortal combat against you the next.

Many years ago one of the NRA magazines had on its cover a picture of a SWAT decked out police officer. The point of the picture was these are the good guys. I wrote to them and said that that is the exact person I would think would one day be confiscating guns.

I’ve seen that many years ago and have never forgot it.
The situation that we find ourselves in should be obvious to any student of European history.
The cycle of uppity peasants being stomped by a tyrannical aristocracy has been repeated many times over the centuries.
There has never been a shortage of brainless muscle that is willing to do the bidding of their masters.

But we never actually had it. It was an illusion. Corruption and brutality go back to the beginning of every police force in this country. You pick the time when you think we had a thin blue line, then go looking up brutality and corruption cases. Guarantee there were a bunch. The thin blue line was ALWAYS a lie, and lie told to enable their BS.
Why are the police we revere doing the tyrants’ bidding?
Could it be the godless secular culture they were raised in? Yes.
WHY? Because they like to survive like anyone else. Most unfortunate, but the entire corp of police need to decline to obey en masse.
