"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.

Connecticut’s Democratic Governor Ned Lamont officially mandated that all nursing homes in the state must require visitors to show proof of vaccination for entry.
Issued in an executive order, Lamont said the highly contagious omicron variant is dangerous for the elderly.
“[T]he impact of COVID-19 outbreaks in nursing homes may be devastating based on the experience from prior COVID-19 surge periods where residents of nursing homes and persons over 65 experienced the highest morbidity rates,” the executive order read.
This means they can never see their unvaxxed grandkids again.

Oh I’m suspicious too.
However, it was funded by the manufacturer because it specifically is a study for licensure. Such studies are usually discussed with the FDA prior to start. The study ‘pretends’ that ivermectin and hcq don’t work because they are not licensed for use for the indication in the USA, nor were they given emergency use authorization in the USA (that I recall). The monoclonal Ab treatment was given EUA (I think) and used as the ‘standard of care’ in an outpatient setting (ie prehospitalization).
So, the drug manufacturer looks like designed and implemented the study based on the rules and regulations for such, to my eye.
It may be that remdesivir does have a positive effect in the outpatient setting in high-risk patients before the patient gets bad and requires hospitalization. Whether or not ivermectin/hcq are superior is another issue (study) which the manufacturer has no financial interest in funding, now (or ever). However, if some individual investigators or sites wanted to pony up the cash to fund another study using remdesivir and ivermectin/hcq, they could, if they were able to get the experimental drug from the manufacturer.
