It is getting 'lax' here on FR, and I have received both Freepmail and email about the currant situation...

To be honest, requirements have never been a written rule, as far as I know, only commonsense.
The PING was after the fact about 95% of the time. For the other 5%, it was for obvious trolls, and the Admin_Mods left them around for a bit so be could have fun.

It is not up to me, but I was always very cautious if I pinged for/about anyone that was not zotted/banned yet (my list was very small (I would ping TheOldLady, DarkWing104, and 50mm). The first 2 had the main ping lists (they were huge, and they never publicly posted them that I can remember).

I believe I know who you are talking about.. I remember making trouble in a thread a few days ago (and his name alone should make the red flags fly, and the warning bells ring)...

I think the best way to judge whether they are worth it or not, is if your are certain enough that if you ping (or hit abuse) an Admin_Mod, that they would follow through and ban the person. (Think outside the box, nothing personal or heated moment.)

Look, I have no problem with you, and enjoy seeing you spread knowledge about Linux in IT threads. No offense, but this is over your head and way before your time.

Hopefully, this won't be needed like it was in the past (usually during the buildups to elections when things got really heated), especially between 2004 and 2012.

Honestly, if you don't like the idea, don't visit the thread. You can witness how far back this goes by how many people are backing it (and how many posts in the thread).

(btw, I never pictured you as a woman 😁).. Speaking of that, now it makes perfect sense why you don't like the idea!

That's how it used to work. If there was suspected troll, a mod was pinged. If action was taken, then the list was pinged....after the fact.
