As the story goes, he called some folks the wrong name.
Per his written explanation sent to the entire Composition II class, the man was distracted and accidentally erred.
While “reading the work of another student,” he recalled, two female students walked in late.
In a “confused” moment, he mismatched the pair’s monikers.
But the duo was less than laughing.
They issued him a written complaint.
Fordham paper The Observer reports:
[The two] sent [Christopher] an email after class expressing that they felt disheartened and disrespected…
The instructor insisted it was an “innocent mistake.”
But as it happens, Christopher is white.
The same can’t be said of those he harmed.
He referenced that fact in his response:
“I have done my best to validate and reassure the offended student that I made a simple, human, error. It has nothing to do with race.”
They don’t see it that way. According to The Observer, the ladies suspect “the mistake occurred because they were both Black.”

I think this was Vince Lombardi’s alma mater. I would not be surprised if they erased his name from their history. I don’t think there was ever a hint of racism in his behavior but he did have the audacity to raise his voice at people and curse (What the hell is going on out there?)
Students are students who need babysitters. In fricken college.
But can you tell them apart?

I used to tech and let me tell you, it’s easy the first month or so to mix names up.
There is a way to accumulate about two years of college credit: CLEP tests. (There are other low-cost options.) But, not many students avail themselves of this option. Why? They don’t have the discipline to study on their own. They need a coach for lack of discipline, and scheduled lessons, homework, and tests, more than they need an instructor. So, right there, they need babysitters. We should reconsider trying to stuff knowledge into the heads of people who couldn’t care less.

The real cause of rage is being around white people, and seeing that their white peers are smarter, can understand math and science concepts that the black kids have given up trying to get.
Their rage is from knowing that, without Affirmative Action, relatively few of them would have middle class jobs.
