As the story goes, he called some folks the wrong name.
Per his written explanation sent to the entire Composition II class, the man was distracted and accidentally erred.
While “reading the work of another student,” he recalled, two female students walked in late.
In a “confused” moment, he mismatched the pair’s monikers.
But the duo was less than laughing.
They issued him a written complaint.
Fordham paper The Observer reports:
[The two] sent [Christopher] an email after class expressing that they felt disheartened and disrespected…
The instructor insisted it was an “innocent mistake.”
But as it happens, Christopher is white.
The same can’t be said of those he harmed.
He referenced that fact in his response:
“I have done my best to validate and reassure the offended student that I made a simple, human, error. It has nothing to do with race.”
They don’t see it that way. According to The Observer, the ladies suspect “the mistake occurred because they were both Black.”

I stopped using names and pronouns a long time ago. Students are “students.”

I think this bears noting, see below he isn’t fired, he gets suspended and still gets pay and benefits-PAID VACATION:

My first year as a university professor, a very well endowed beautiful blonde student asked a question in class. I meant to say. “Did you TEST your answer.”
But what came out of my mouth was “Did you CHEST your answer.”
The entire class lost it laughing. I turned bright red, couldn’t even speak to continue teaching. Had to walk into the hallway to regain my composure I was so embarrassed.
I apologized to her after class. She just smiled and replied, “That’s OK.”
I was 26 years old at the time. She was 22. Never have I been so embarrassed... Darn Freudian Slips!

That was initially. He was later terminated and lost all his pay and benefits, largely for “over apologizing” in an email to all his students. Fordham sounds more like an asylum than a University.
Schools and colleges are raising monsters - humorless, absurdly literal-minded monsters. The administrators could put a stop to this, but, instead, are the midwives birthing these monsters.
Get rid of the WOKE Prof. They deserve what they give.
I said that the guy who drove into the crowd and killed and harmed so many should have the same done to him. He should be run over by a red SUV. I was banned by FB. Amazing. He can DO it we just can’t wish the same DONE to him.

That should have ended “We have been married for 20 years.”
I don’t understand. By misnaming does that mean he called one Shameka instead of Takeesha?
And he got fired for that?
More to the story: This is a story about woke people overreacting to each other.
If I understand correctly: When the two students overreacted and emailed him about the name mixup, he overreacted and sent a long email to ALL his students addressing the name mixup and detailing his woke credentials. He wasn't terminated over a name mixup. He was terminated over his email to all his students.
