ORANGE CITY — A pregnant librarian was killed in a road rage incident after she instigated a fight with a motorcyclist, police said.
Orange City police said 35-year-old Sara Morales was shot outside her home following an argument with another motorist. Police said Morales intentionally hit the motorcycle Saturday and then fled the scene. Authorities said the motorcyclist and a witness followed her, trying to get her to stop.
The motorcyclist told police they called police while following the librarian back to her home.
According to police, Morales went inside, returned with a gun and a confrontation occurred in the road. The motorcyclist allegedly shot Morales multiple times. The pregnant woman and mother of an 11-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital, Fox 35 Orlando reported.
Police said the motorcyclist has a concealed weapons permit, remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
Was there any indication that the motorcyclist cut her off then ‘laid back’ and sped up when she attempted to pass?
Was there any indication of her car door being kicked by the shooter?
Did she hit him because he cut inside her ‘safe’ space with the vehicle ahead of her?
What did the 11-year old have to say about the encounter?
Even if it's self defense, the guy has the death of a pregnant woman on his conscience.
And, no doubt, there will be legal fees and a civil suit.
And so much, these days, depends on the color of your skin.
Why take a chance?
“confrontations can be avoided”
If she felt threaten, she could have stay in the house and call the police. The Motorcyclist stayed in the road according to the reports. She went out to the road with a gun to confront him.
Had an incident nearby, some Karen went off screaming, yelling and then cut the car off forcing it off the road. Guy followed her home, she stepped out of the safety of her vehicle. Kept yelling etc..apparently she got free with her hands and was knocked out for her trouble. All on video so no charges. There was a time a man would go to great lengths to not hit a woman. Those days are long gone, slap a man and you will get knocked on your ass. It is a whole different level of stupid to threaten a man with a gun especially in Red States.

“So she hit the motorcycle.”
So she hit the motorcycle....this is not a small thing like a fender bender in a parking lot. Car drivers, many times, don’t realize that a “love tap” from a car to a motorcycle is very deadly. The motorcyclist is lucky to be alive.
I wonder if she’s guilty of any past hit a runs. From her behavior I’d say she likely has.
Thank you, that has far more info.
Here is probably what happened. Either the pregnant woman did something in traffic that could have hurt the guy on the bike, or he did something like cut in front of her or something, and words ensued.
In any case, she intentionally hit him as witnesses (related or unrelated, I don’t know) seem to back up, and a chase back to the house ensued.
This woman made a lot of bad choices. She probably didn’t go out looking for it, but...that is how it goes these days.
Thank you. It seems to be more and more frequent that we get more information from UK news sources.
Guess US news sources are too busy spreading lies and propaganda.
My wife is the same...............
Sadly, I think this is true.
So, would you allow a woman 7-8 months pregnant to shot you just because she is pregnant? Lost in all of this are charges she would face for purposefully hitting a motorcycle. She could have killed the man on the bike, yet we are to give her a pass because she is pregnant? Could he have followed her home and wait down the road, maybe. They already called the cops and were waiting. Once she came out of the house with a gun, she escalated the situation not the biker. You are correct about the click bait title of the article.
Maybe saved the 11 year old from her and prevented a future monster from being born.
No matter what, SHE won't be reproducing any more.
Yah, but the motorcyclists didn’t have to sit there in plain view and continue to be the focus of a clearly unhinged person. Not handled well.
Just because you CAN doesn’t always mean you SHOULD.
One of the dumbest comments I've seen in the past hour. The hit and run suspect being pregnant has zip to do with this. The law requires drivers exchange information after a collision. She was in the wrong. The motorcyclist stayed in the street after following the suspect home, when she came out with a gun trying to kill the biker.
The female suspect was obviously a dangerous lunatic.
Hello!
Curious if they allow lane splitting like here in California.
Was he doing it, did he get in her blind spot?
Love how all the folks jump on justification for blowing someone away.. He must not have been too hurt to be able to draw a weapon.
Let legal authorities decide and pay the consequences, she already did.
I caution my wife to just let idiots be on their way and don’t inflame a situation. Ya never know. Madness ain’t just limited to Florida.
I am of that generation. When I was growing up, it was considered dishonorable and unmanly for a man to strike a woman, even if she was the aggressor (such as in a domestic situation).
But it was also a time when women tended to be more ladylike in general, which prompted men to be more chivalrous and protective of them. A woman being threatened on a city street in say, 1975, would immediately have a dozen men come to her rescue. These days, a lot of men would just keep walking and pretend not to notice. Maybe that's a reflection on their manhood or maybe they are so jaded that they figure the woman deserves what is coming to her.
Back then, it was unheard of for a woman to engage in road rage, give a strange man the finger or get in their faces like many of them do today. Nowadays, many of them do it with impunity.
You are correct in warning your daughter of the dangers of enraging a stranger such as in a road rage incident. Unless she is willing to fight and defend herself - which I don't recommend - she should keep her eyes straight ahead and mind her own business. Even as a man, I will not escalate a potential road rage situation as you have no idea who you are dealing with. Much better to get out of the way, let the person go around you, and avoid eye contact.
I find cars driving in my blind spots all the time. Does that make it legal for me to make an unsafe lane change and hit them?
Add to the list.....kids with guns, pregnant woman, both can kill you just as dead as anyone else.
