Harris said the pandemic 'has exasperated' the disparities in the health care system
Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday called for a health care workforce that "looks like America" and asserted that the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the systemic inequities in the health care system.
Harris announced the Biden administration will be investing $1.5 billion from the COVID-19 relief package to tackle the shortage of health care workers in high-risk and underserved communities.

The medical fields are begging for workers so if there are not enough workers of one type to satisfy Harris perhaps it is because they don’t want to get the training to get those jobs.
I believe in equal opportunity not equal results.
Individuals like Harris are the real racist in our nation.

In my local hospital, the workforce “looks like the UN.” During my 25-day “vacation” this summer, I had staff obviously American-born, African, Chinese, Latin American... I had one nurse from Bosnia. I had American doctors, a couple of Italian doctors (born in Italy), an Iranian doctor, one of my regular doctors is from some Middle Eastern country.
So, I don’t know what the kamel toe ho is going on about.
So is the racial percentage breakdown local, regional? Say if a hospital is in a town that is populated with mostly people from India, but neighboring towns are not. Will the staff directly represent the race percentages of that town or the region that hospital serves? Same goes for urgent care centers, local racial percentages? If there’s more than one urgent care in a town, will the racial makeup of the staff reflect the neighborhood?
Absolutely ridiculous, just give me someone who’s good at their work.
Now, you KNOW that "Affirmative Action" is a one way ratchet for racism and sexism. All you need to do is look at any commercial on television, news team, that is all female, all black/minority, all the time to understand that it isn't something where they stop at some preset level.
Guys don't have boobs or wear tight dresses (normally) so...they aren't going to be represented as news anchors. They might put the wimpy guys on weather or sports, but they don't have boobs or wear tight dresses (normally) so, you may not see them there, either.
So, yeah. Don't expect any kind of change in medical schools when it comes to admitting whites or men, or even native born Americans, so women, minorities, and foreign born students will continue to have a leg up in admissions.
Around here (suburban MD) the vast majority of the health care workforce is black female.

This is the ‘thinking’ that’s celebrated today by untold millions of low-info voters.
This reminds me of the old Sanford and Son TV show in which Fred goes to a dentist but wants a WHITE dentist to work on him, believing whites were better educated in the medical field.
