Imagine this: A pesky mosquito sips some of your blood. Hours later, the blood-sucker drops dead, poisoned by the very blood it just slurped down.
That may sound too good to be true, but it's a tantalizing possibility, according to research published this week in the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases. The study points to a potential new tool to fight malaria: the medication ivermectin. Studies conducted in the 2000s, including one in 2010, show that malaria-carrying mosquitoes die after feeding on individuals who have ingested the drug.
.........
In their study, the researchers demonstrate that three high doses of ivermectin make human blood deadly to mosquitoes for at least 28 days after the start of treatment. This high dose of ivermectin was also well-tolerated with few side effects.
I’m pro-vaccine-choice.
Always been.
I been commenting on Ivermectin for quite a long time now.
Usually pipe up when someone ask a question about it.
You enter reading my comments with an overwhelming bias, so much so that you miss or your brain ignores some things.
Do you know why Ivermectin isn’t a covered countermeasure?
I don’t know what you mean by “covered”.
Do you mean by health insurance companies?
Because it’s is covered that way.
But they won’t cover it for off label use.
So if you have intestinal parasites, or any other preferred issues that Ivermectin is prescribed for it will be covered, your doctor or a doctor just needs to write the script “correctly”
Ivermectin isn’t really expensive. I would assume most people can pay with cash for it.
Doctors write off label prescriptions by the tens of thousands every year.
HCQ and Ivermectin are front and center right now so some large Hospital Corps are enforcing the Doctors that work for them or have privileges not to write those drugs for off label.
HCQ is also used for Arthritis, and Lupus. So if you have Arthritis and need relieve, ask your doc for HCQ, aka, Plaquanell.
Understand. But mass populations taking ivermectin to kill mosquitos in the wild is pointless
Thanks.
Jut FYI, I had a scrip filled in January in Los Angeles (locally owned compounding pharmacy). To see if they were still filling scrips, I stopped by yesterday and spoke to the owner/pharmacist. He said that he would happily fill a scrip again, but that his suppliers are telling him that it’s “backordered”, and he doesn’t know when it would be available. He suspects that’s not true and that pressure is being applied to limit supplies.
I suspect there is wide regional variation among different states.
The leftist USG is doing to IVM what they are trying to do to guns.
If they can’t make it “ illegal” they just issue regulations and exert other pressure on private businesses to make them hard to get. That’s how fascism rolls.
Yep. Their boot’s on the neck....of freedom.
