“So the end result in most areas is you need 2 average or even above average incomes to get a nice house in a good school district in the good parts of town.”
Not necessarily. Our last house in CA cost new $32,000 and my husbands salary as a teacher had just reached $10,000. That house was right in the middle of what became Silicone Valley. This was in 1969. I was a stay at home Mom raising 3 kids. I would go to work for a few months at a time occasionally just to make some money for the extra things we wanted. Like building decks, going to Disney Land, Travel to WA to spend the summers at my Mom’s. We lived on a tight budget so it could be done.
I will say we were very fortunate to have bought where we did since it eventually became Silicone Valley and 10 yrs later sold it for 3 1/2 times more then what we paid for it. Now it is valued at 3 1/2 million. Location! Location! Location! Makes all the difference in the world. The same thing is happening here in Tri-Cites WA where I live. Price of houses are going up and up. But where my brother bought houses for rentals in Indianapolis, Indiana, when he got ready to sell recently he could hardly give them away he said.
You did it, again. 😂
This. Line. Got. Me.......

Y mistake was moving into town where I needed city water.
Quite frankly, I’m surprised anybody expected anything but.
“I watched Tucker, tonight, for the first time (LIVE), in a LONG time. He was on fire, too.”
I have been watching Tucker almost every night. He has come a long ways since he first started.
I have been considering joining FoxNation if it doesn’t cost to much.
Y mistake was moving into town where I needed city water.
As opposed to .... well water?
You. Are. Killin. Me.
I can relate!
I moved into an apartment, right out of college....was so proud of myself for being so independent.....guess what I forgot to do?
Pay my gas deposit.
First day of work, which happened to be in December.....ICE COLD shower.
Guess where I went on my lunch hour?
I joined FoxNation two years ago, when they were having a special.
Then....I got mad at all things FOX, so I cancelled.
I would like to see Tucker’s FoxNation show. Maybe they’ll have another special rate, to get subscribers back.

The Pentagon has appeared to confirm a bombshell report claiming that Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley conspired to undermine then-President Donald Trump’s military authority and warn the Chinese government of any impending U.S. attacks.
According to newly released excerpts of “Peril,” an upcoming book authored by reporters Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Milley was worried Trump would “go rogue,” conspired to subvert Trump’s ability to command U.S. nuclear weapons and promised his Chinese counterparts he would warn the Chinese in advance of any U.S. attack.
Axios reported that a spokesman for Milley addressed the report on Wednesday, saying Milley had indeed called his Chinese counterparts in October and January to convey “reassurance in order to maintain strategic stability.”
I usually watch Fox Business....love Varney!
Awwwww.......Stu.....who does NOT admire that man?
“I would like to see Tucker’s FoxNation show.”
I would like to see Laura Logan’s special also. I just checked and they are having a free trial but I am not sure for how long the trial is as I didn’t explore.
Was your hubby a veteran, if so you can get Fox Nation for a year free.
Maybe with the holiday’s coming up, they’ll have a special offer.
This would make a good Christmas gift.
I think you got your CA house before 2 incomes were needed.
In Texas one income was sufficient in the 60’s, when I was growing up
Its true!
True, higher income taxes are a big part of it. Property taxes as well
but we don’t really give a rat’s a$$.
