Here’s a good article about Joe’s speech from England.
What Biden said: In a speech that could come to define his presidency, a completely unrepentant Biden last night made clear he had no regrets about how he had managed the American escape from Afghanistan, insisting: āI stand squarely behind my decision.ā The president laid the blame for the Taliban takeover partly on the āpeaceā deal brokered by the Trump administration in 2020, but mostly with Afghan politicians and soldiers for, in his words, not being āwilling to fight for themselves.ā Bidenās argument seemed focused on American voters rather than the watching world as he claimed the Afghan conflict was never about state-building and asked: āHow many more American lives is it worth?ā He argued he had faced a binary choice: pull out all American troops now, or be dragged into another full-scale and endless war. POLITICO has a write-up of his words, and hereās a video of the speech in full. Biden took no questions from journalists.
Pulling the wool: Bidenās remarkable speech was quickly condemned by foreign policy experts who accused him of presenting a misleading version of the choices he faced, as well as critics who pointed out the president had appeared to completely contradict several of his own past statements on Afghanistan. The respected Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Shadi Hamid said: āāAmerica firstā is still the policy. Just this time with a Democratic president. One can imagine Trump giving a slight variation of the same speech.ā The Middle East Instituteās Charles Lister tweeted: āYouāre pulling wool over peopleās eyes ā the Afghan Army has fought valiantly against the Taliban for 20yrs, at an enormous cost. *We* decided to undermine their govt, pull the rug from under their feet, kill off their airforce & tell the Taliban our withdrawal timetable.ā
Was it all Trumpās fault? The deal the Trump administration struck with the Taliban has been heavily criticized by, among others, U.K. Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, who said yesterday: āThe die was cast when the deal was done by Donald Trump.ā Take a closer look at the details of Trumpās agreement to release Taliban prisoners and drop sanctions and itās not hard to see why. But the withdrawal timetable was also enthusiastically embraced by the Biden administration. In April, Vice President Kamala Harris praised Bidenās ācourageā for deciding to proceed with the withdrawal, and boasted that she had a key role in the decision. If the Biden administration was unhappy about the plan for withdrawal, it certainly gave the opposite impression only a few months ago.
Shifting the goalposts: Bidenās line last night that Americaās involvement in Afghanistan was solely about protecting the U.S. from terrorism and never about nation-building not only astonished observers in the British government, but also contradicted his own statements from the time. In 2001, when the war began, Biden outlined what he saw as the Americansā long-term objective: āOur hope is that we will see a relatively stable government in Afghanistan, one that does not harbor terrorists, is acceptable to the major players in the region, represents the ethnic make up of the country and provides the foundation for future reconstruction of that country.ā In 2003, Biden explicitly said: āThe alternative to nation-building is chaos, a chaos that churns out blood-thirsty warlords, drug traffickers and terrorists.ā It would appear that now the nation-building dream has come crashing down, Biden is pretty disingenuously trying to disassociate himself from it.

Bidens piety is so fake. He is the most pro abortion acting president we have ever had. He makes me sick
Thanks! I shall take a look.
I have an old country song stuck in my head, that needs the Shanklin magic, to make it an anthem for today...
“How could you believe me when I told you that I love you when you know Ive been a liar all my life?”
That should read a BIDEN anthem
Me too.
Great ad!
Chase Bank on Tuesday told TheBlaze it has apologized for the credit card cancellation letter that retired Gen. Michael Flynn ā former national security adviser under former President Donald Trump ā posted on his Telegram social media page Sunday.
Chase’s Aug. 20 letter reads, in part, “we decided to close your credit cards on September 18, 2021 because continuing the relationship creates possible reputational risk to our company.”
Chase Bank also told TheBlaze that “we made an error” in reference to the cancellation letter.
What’s the background?
Flynn on Sunday posted on Telegram the above image of the Chase letter with the addressee text crossed out ā as well as a stinging retort directed at the bank:
“Chase Bank has gone full blown woke!” Flynn wrote. “They need to deal with their own reputation instead of persecuting my family and I. [Department of Justice] dropped my case for their own egregious government misconduct, appears you weren’t that lucky with the DOJ. I guess my America First political views don’t align with yours. Your loss.”
Flynn’s reference to Chase’s “own reputation” presumably is connected with a DOJ press release link he posted next stating that “JPMorgan Chase & Co. Agrees To Pay $920 Million in Connection with Schemes to Defraud Precious Metals and U.S. Treasuries Markets.”
On Monday TheBlaze asked Chase to comment on Flynn’s implication that the bank canceled his credit cards, and a Chase spokesperson replied, “We are declining to comment.” But on Tuesday the bank reversed course and contacted TheBlaze with a statement of apology and admission of error.
‘Her’
It’s also worth reading the full Tuesday statement to TheBlaze from the Chase spokesperson: “We’ve contacted our customer to let her know that we made an error and we apologized for any inconvenience this caused.”
So if Flynn complained about the credit card cancellation letter, who is the “her” that Chase refers to as the “customer” it contacted with an apology?
Well, Chase would not comment to TheBlaze about that, but there are some clues.
Flynn in his Telegram retort to Chase doesn’t say the Chase letter was sent to him personally. He only accuses Chase of “persecuting my family and I.”
In addition, the recipient’s name and address are blacked out in the image of the letter Flynn posted. All that remains is the surname “Flynn” in the greeting section. But TheBlaze magnified the blacked-out sections and used the iPhone photos app to adjust the contrast and filter out the black ā and noticed the letters to the left of “Flynn” don’t appear to be part of the names “Mike” or “Michael.” However, they may be part of the name “Lori,” who is Flynn’s wife.
TheBlaze on Tuesday asked Chase if the “her” in its statement refers to Lori Flynn, but the bank has not yet commented on that question.
There be a FR thread about it. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3991058/posts
Interesting, thanks.
Good article here:
Then there was Rep. Cori Bush, queen of bad takes, who let it be known that this abortion ban (and yes, Iām perfectly fine calling it that) will disproportionately affect āqueerā folks.
Iām thinking about the Black, brown, low-income, queer, and young folks in Texas. The folks this abortion health care ban will disproportionately harm.
Wealthy white folks will have the means to access abortion care. Our communities wonāt.
ā Cori Bush (@CoriBush) September 1, 2021
Now, Iām no biology expert, but Iām pretty sure āqueerā folks are not disproportionately affected by this ban because Iām pretty sure they arenāt affected at all. You see, when someone is gay, they lose the ability to reproduce outside of artificial insemination, and no one has an abortion after artificial insemination. So what is Bush even talking about here?
Iāll tell you what sheās talking about. Sheās a woke automaton, just spewing words without any meaning or thought. Sheās also disapproving of the fact that fewer āblackā and ābrownā babies will be killed due to this law, which is odd considering her entire schtick is to scream āblack lives matterā at every issue.

What gets me is, if it’s Flynn’s wife’s card, what ‘possible reputational risk’ is there to Chase??
Cori Bush is the poster child for a brain dead, woke, political hack!
You have š«
I’m glad they got the horses out. We had some people at the cabin that had horses up there. Whenever there was even the hint of fire, they would load them up and take them down to the valley. Not all were that responsible. Especially in Corpus Christi, during hurricanes or the tail end of hurricanes. I had a lady watching my cats that was doing a lot of rescues. She was so mad at the “minorities” that would just leave their horses behind, even tied up sometimes. The funny thing was she was Hispanic but she knew who was treating the animals badly.
No, not until Monday. That’s why I was going to spend the week canning, cuz I would have access to the stove anytime. So much for the plans of mice and men.
That’s surprising, was she in a conservative District? I would think most California administrations would promote her.
