Weekly jobless claims totaled 310,000 for the week ended Sept. 4, another fresh low for the pandemic era.
That was below the Dow Jones estimate of 335,000 and a decline from the previous week’s 345,000.
Continuing claims fell to 2.78 million, a drop of 22,000.
First-time filings for unemployment claims in the U.S. dropped to 310,000 last week, easily the lowest of the Covid era and a significant step toward the pre-pandemic normal, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
Claims had been expected to total 335,000 for the week ended Sept. 4, according to economists surveyed by Dow Jones.
The total for the week ended Sept. 4 represented a substantial drop from the previous week’s 345,000 and is the lowest since March 14, 2020. Claims may have been still lower except for a substantial bump in Louisiana, which was hammered by Hurricane Ida and still has nearly 250,000 homes and businesses without power.

Kamala blew into the state yesterday. I heard a few clips, I swear she was high as a kite while speaking. She was giggling, & sounded like she just smoked a bowl. The radio hosts playing the clips said the same thing. It was obvious.
Is that response something new? Sounds like a great idea, since most people should be wondering if their vote is even counting.

Wonderful breakfast, and thanks for the chicken leg tip. The last time I can to chicken I got these same things, because I just don’t like chicken breast canned, it’s too dry. And these parts with the bones make spectacular stock. As you know, since you use them for soup :-)

Speaking of which, I think my hubby is finally coming around. He asked me again if I was going to take the vaccine now that it is “approved”. I told him it’s not really a normal approval, the manufacturer still has no liability. And the inventor of the mRNA vaccines is totally against it. And he should know.
He tried to Google it and couldn’t find anything.
Then I told him about the preliminary results of the Maricopa canvassing. He couldn’t find that either.
I told him, what do you think, that we still live in a free country? Google is censoring news. He used DuckDuckGo and found both of the stories, but only in a small handful of places.
He looked a bit dazed after that. I don’t blame him, we thought we were leaving the dream, just to find out it was actually a nightmare below the surface.

This needs to go to the Supreme Court. Not that I hold up much hope since they are corrupt. But negative test, antibody test, why can’t those be used. Nobody has even proved this vaccine is even effective, not if you have to have booster after booster.
Sigh. I’m just glad I don’t work for the Department of Labor anymore. I feel so sad for our young people.
