It was shocking to my husband and me that our children canceled us for being who and what we are.
It happened that, as I was thinking about writing about my husband and me being canceled by our own children six months ago — we have been agonizing about not being able to talk to them or see our grandson for all that time — a thought popped into my mind: blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Weeks ago, while struggling with how to understand what has happened, I picked up a copy of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Then I looked at a book by David Horowitz entitled Barack Obama's Rules for Revolution: The Alinsky Model. What I read convinced me that our family, more so our children, had been targeted. We, as a middle-class family who used to live together in the suburbs, were in the bull's eye.
Consider the last chapter of Rules, which was published in 1971. It is entitled "The Way Forward." Alinsky writes, "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is[.] ... Large parts of the middle class, the 'silent majority,' must be activated[.]"
The left has been working on making the children of the middle class into radicals, turning them against their parents and their parents' values for fifty years now, in multiple generations. All the things we middle-class parents believed in and called good, our children now call bad and false, and more than bad and false, worthy of destruction, especially if we parents are Christian and conservative, and even more so if we are Trump-supporters. Our cancelation is the fruit of the left's strategy to remake America.

Yep, happened to me. Have had no communication for over a year and have been blocked from updates about the grandchild. Although missing the grandchild, the loss of drama with the parents has been a blessing. The will is being updated by the lawyers as I write this. Shock and awe.

People don’t need toxic people in their lives. For their health and sanity you gotta let them go. Children or not.
Maybe one day they will realize their mistake and come back. Maybe not. Their loss
I am and was perfectly willing to be cancelled by my kids. And its sad, because the world has NOT been kind to them as a result.

Same thing happened to us. Worst 30 grand anyone ever spent for each of them. They could have gotten it all free over a summer at the PRC Youth camps.
The classroom is a powerful influential environment for our children. You have to parent against the culture. (George Will actually said that years ago).
My daughter would come home and say something crazy like, “Everyone has the same intelligence.” When we countered she would say with authority, “Well, my teacher said that.”

If I did one thing right in this life it is the fact that all three of my kids are conservative, patriotic citizens. They are in their 20s and 30s and are every bit as pissed off as me. However, I do have a cousin I was once close to who after college turned into a rabid leftist. For nearly 20 years we haven’t had anything to do with each other. Fine by me. He made his choice not me.
You brought them into this world... you can take them out. I think it’s a law maybe.

Sad to hear, but keep in mind, no one gets to set their own course in life - it will always be others doing it. If not the parents, then others who are closest to them do it.

You could take it a step further and tell them your money is going to the Federalist Society or something similar - perhaps a conservative PAC that actually supports Trump...or maybe the NRA, or the FRC if you really want to get their attention.
