It was shocking to my husband and me that our children canceled us for being who and what we are.
It happened that, as I was thinking about writing about my husband and me being canceled by our own children six months ago — we have been agonizing about not being able to talk to them or see our grandson for all that time — a thought popped into my mind: blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Weeks ago, while struggling with how to understand what has happened, I picked up a copy of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Then I looked at a book by David Horowitz entitled Barack Obama's Rules for Revolution: The Alinsky Model. What I read convinced me that our family, more so our children, had been targeted. We, as a middle-class family who used to live together in the suburbs, were in the bull's eye.
Consider the last chapter of Rules, which was published in 1971. It is entitled "The Way Forward." Alinsky writes, "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is[.] ... Large parts of the middle class, the 'silent majority,' must be activated[.]"
The left has been working on making the children of the middle class into radicals, turning them against their parents and their parents' values for fifty years now, in multiple generations. All the things we middle-class parents believed in and called good, our children now call bad and false, and more than bad and false, worthy of destruction, especially if we parents are Christian and conservative, and even more so if we are Trump-supporters. Our cancelation is the fruit of the left's strategy to remake America.

Yeah I was canceled 3+ years ago by my youngest sons and their narc ‘mother’…there is nothing I can do…zero contact…oldest in our last conversation said ‘don’t contact us, we know how to contact you if we need to’…and just like that they were gone…emotional agony but I have given it to GOD and that helps tremendously…prayers for those in similar situations…

It’s actually one of the few times you need a mask. If you are going to be within 6 feet of someone for a length of time, it can help but a face shield is a better choice. The problem is that people think the mask completely stops the virus and that is a joke. It’s only a mitigating factor.
My aunt has Dementia and we had to block CNN on her cable because she would just go off on rants about how “Donald Duck” was going to be thrown out of office.
They hate and despise those who go against their indoctrination. They are pushed to actually want you dead. If that were to happen, they still would not be happy and then they would find reasons to turn on each other for lack of purity and such.
Terrible way to live without any joy from what God has given us. It is if they notice nothing but hate.
Excellent way to handle what could be a train wreck.

Alinsky based his stuff on ideas from Marcus, he of the Frankfurt School. They came from Germany after Hitler failed, and infested Columbia University. And spread their marxist infection everywhere here.

Just curious. You start out blaming the parents, but then say your brother turned out to be a flaming liberal. I assume you had the same parents, and you seem to have turned out okay. So is your brother the result of how his parents raised him, or did he come by his views on his own?
In times past, this was a phase that adult kids got over and became a family with their parents again. Today, and for the past decade, they don't come back and continue to hate their parents.
When the “pandemic” hit and the news was 24/7 covid, I turned off all news sources on the set. Local, national what have you. My father was 91 with short term memory loss and I didn’t want him to feel frightened about something that was likely, imo, to be little more than a flu epidemic. We still don’t watch the news. I read the news on trusted sites and that’s it. My regard for the “news” in the msm is -1. I wouldn’t trust them to report about a kitten up a tree.

That is a wise response. One thing I discovered about my son while he was at college was that he was sick and tired of talking about politics all the time. He got in-the-face lefty lectures at school and in classes and at home during breaks. He won’t talk politics to this day. He’s still mostly conservative but he’s making his won choices now as a 25 yo going to PA school. He’s taken the vaccine which my husband and I are adamantly against. But again he makes his own decisions. What good does it do to belittle someone’s choices or decisions. Like my mom always said even a bad family visit is still good because the ties are what matters. I’m grateful when my son visits. But like some of you posters I’m trying to distance myself somewhat so that he can be his own man even if I don’t necessarily see eye to eye with him on everything. I loved being his mom. I can’t ever turn my back on him even if he were to do that to me which he hasn’t but who knows? One day he might have to make a choice like children in countries have done that are fascistic or communist. I don’t know what the future will bring but I pray for my son every day without fail. I pray for the whole world which is being held in Satan’s sway. God will sort everything at the end.
Agree with you both. It also amazes me how parents will continue to pay for their kids to go to “higher education” when those same kids basically disown them. Makes no sense.
We are lucky and did something right. Our kids actually have more than just two brain cells to rub together and have not fallen for all the lies and propaganda. They stand out as rare for their own generation.
Too many parents are willing to be blackmailed by their kids. Older parents with grown kids need to be willing to look at them as say, "You aren't God! I don't worship you and I don't OWE you SQUAT! You want to go live with the pigs? Have at it. But remember: You may "cancel" me, but someday you'll face God Almighty and He'll be the one doing the cancelling!"

Not what I’ve seen, looking around the church. I’ve watched parents set rules, love their kids, be involved and try to teach them - and then SOME of their kids become criminals. Literally. Thinking of a friend who tried very hard and how now has 2 kids in prison.
My own? They all have good intentions but two of them are total boneheads in their late 30s. Not criminals, though, so I’ve got that going for me! But....going on 20 years now of consistently bad decisions. Conservatives politically, but....
We are to train them up in the way they should go...

Good question but quite the opposite... My parents and grand parents on my mother’s side are/were all Democrats. My mother actually asked me what happened to me to become a conservative. I said I grew up and that was probably 40+ years ago when I joined the military.
My mother who’s in her late 80’s won’t talk politics with me. I call every Sunday for 10 minutes or so.. (wife makes me). She got the “vaccine” as did my brother but I’m not allowed to visit her unless I get get it. I moved 1200 miles away by design so no issues there anyway.
What I do know is her, like my brother, are very low informed voters, don’t have a clue about the real world and believe everything the MSM tells them. They’ve lived in absolute fear for the past ~16 months and have gone nowhere.
If I had a $1.00 for every bad decision I made I could have retired in my 30’s...
No one is perfect that’s for damn sure but you lay the foundation as best you can, step back and see what happens.
