A Michigan mayor is facing fire after he used campaign money to fund a portion of his daughter’s wedding, according to reports. Mayor LeRoy Burcroff from Romulus, Mich., acknowledged that he used campaign funds to the sum of $4,500 to pay for an open bar at his daughter’s wedding.

I see he endorsed a Democrat running for the MI House of Representatives in 2014.
Burcroff endosed another Dem in 2016.

I thought money donated to them was pretty much their own money, as long as they disclosed it. And I think they can keep it even after a campaign.
Romulus and Remus are kind of brother cities in that are. Very small burgs 50 years ago.

This is no different than a preacher spending money from the collection plate on a fancy vacation. People give away money with out the receiver signing a contract. If you want a donation to go to a specific cause, get it in writing.
I don’t know. Even if he had spent the donation differently, his aim is a “fancy vacation.” A life-long one! Why not use some donations to bribe his family and all those who provided for the wedding? Get some practice using other people’s money to entice.
