Why electric cars will take over sooner than you think
I know, you probably haven't even driven one yet, let alone seriously contemplated buying one, so the prediction may sound a bit bold, but bear with me.
We are in the middle of the biggest revolution in motoring since Henry Ford's first production line started turning back in 1913.
And it is likely to happen much more quickly than you imagine.
Many industry observers believe we have already passed the tipping point where sales of electric vehicles (EVs) will very rapidly overwhelm petrol and diesel cars.
It is certainly what the world's big car makers think.
Jaguar plans to sell only electric cars from 2025, Volvo from 2030 and last week the British sportscar company Lotus said it would follow suit, selling only electric models from 2028.

What problem?
free market/ technology are not driving this.....left wing political lunacy is...
Hey now. I put a disclaimer on it. 😂🙌
“I’ll take 16 hours of me in control of my destiny behind the wheel...”
Plus the baggage limit is WAY higher.
somebody will sell a EV conversion
Not without this year's Vaccine Passport, Comrade.
The “long range” version of the Tesla model 3 has a range of just over 350 miles on a full charge. That’s not bad. New, it costs about $48K.
A model S “long range” version has an estimated range of 412 miles on a full charge, but that will set you back $72.9K.
That’s electric?? I really do not understand how that could be feasible. Yes we have electric trains but they get their electric from the tracks. A truck would have to be self contained and it would need a tremendous amount of stored electric as the average interstate rig can easily drive 500 to 600 miles a day. No trucking company is going to want trucks that drive a couple hundred miles then spend 6 hours charging.
Will AAA bring me a charge if car dies in heavy traffic? I believe they will bring you gas if you run out.
How much would it cost to power the world with solar panels?
It would take 51.4 billion 350W solar panels to power the world! Put another way, this is the equivalent of a solar power plant that covers 115,625 square miles.

“I recently completed an 1100 mile trip in 16 hours in a 15-year old gas-driven car. It would probably take me three days in a shiny new electric vehicle.”
Nope.

Conversation at meeting where the address space for the Internet was decided: “At most, there are 34 computers that may need to be assigned an address, but let’s just round up to 32bits.”

"You think you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it."
taxed at the pump ( charging station) and then taxed at the odometer.
You bet we won’t.
So much for freedom of assembly and freeedom of movement.
And remember. Biden and the dems have railed against building a security fire wall around our power grids to keep enemies out.We will be shut down, just a mater of time.
Your charging station for your EV would be the first to shut down. Gas fueled vehicles would roll a lot longer until the petrol ran out.
Life becomes so complex when you try and compose a Utopia rather than adapting to the good old dirty mud ball we live on.
Get rid of the government intervention and watch the,”biggest revolution in motoring since Henry Ford’s first production line started turning back in 1913” come to a screeching halt.
Because mining/refining nickel/lithium/cobalt/etc. for batteries is good for the environment.
When I finally pay it off it will be banned because it’s gas powered?
People still think if you put a key on your dash board attached to a kite, the car will run.
It’s more than just the increased demand of electrical vehicles, although that’s part of it. It’s part of a perfect storm directed at controlling and soaking the middle class. In my state, there is now a law requiring all electricity to be generated from non-carbon sources by 2040. Add increased housing, increased population, countless new electrical gadgets, and electricity displacing gasoline to the mix, and what else can we expect?
The logistics of placing charging stations where they’re needed is also a huge impediment. I’m not sure what the minimum charge time is. If tens of thousands do their daily commutes and plug in overnight, at home, I can see problems, as well.
