In major international tests, the physics-defying EmDrive has failed to produce the amount of thrust proponents were expecting. In fact, in one test at Germany’s Dresden University, it didn’t produce any thrust at all. Is this the end of the line for EmDrive?

Just move on to the EnDrive.
Executive summary: NASA determined that the “thrust” produced by the Em Drive resulted from the interaction of the drive current with Earth’s magnetic field. Too bad, it would have been lovely if it had proved out, although it would surely have caused some difficulties for physics.
It violates the conservation of momentum law, among others. Physical laws have a way of enforcing themselves.
Sometimes, when I make popcorn in the microwave oven, the house travels to another galaxy.
Ahh, but it would have to be two EnDrives.
(I remember setting type back in high school, working out of a California Job Case w/o looking).
I feel that the true results and their implications are being presented in a perpendicular way. The drive current does produce a thrust in some circumstances even if it is against the earth’s magnetic fields. That can still have some potential applications. Applying a strong magnetic current( like maglev trains) to a metal based rocket launchpad and applying a counter current emfield from the rocket or ship might help do a virtual reduction of gravitational pull and give the ship a “boost”...even if it isn’t going to be useful as a ftl drive.
Someone wants this quashed. Politicised NASA pooh-poohed this...so consider the source.
They should’ve tried defragging it first.
In other news, economists have determined socialism doesn’t work either.
But I just installed one and moved all my porn to it!
Of course I mapped it to M: so my Em drive is my M drive.
Better try downloading more ram!
Not trying to be s smart Alec here, but hasn’t quantum physics “defied all the rules” of previously known physics?
Physics defying? LoL! Like I tell my son, it’s called a “Law” for a reason!
“economists have determined socialism doesn’t work either.”
Yeah, but Political SCIENTISTS know that it does work. And they have SCIENCE on their side.
It was self-defense!
The Vimanas of ancient India operated on laghima force
and mercury vortex engines.
If they researched this EM drive why are they not researching the vimanas?
Apparently space ship designs described in sanskrit were recently found in Tibet.

“The EmDrive, copyrighted by its parent company SPR Ltd, theoretically works by trapping microwaves in a shaped chamber where their bouncing produces thrust.”
If I remember my microwave theory correctly, in order to have microwave energy collimated you would have to supply some kind of external energy to do that else why would they not just “bounce” in random directions and produce no thrust?. Also, where does the microwave trapped in that chamber come from? Please elucidate.
