We have a danged automated camera/infrared sensor gizmo sitting on a tripod right at the main lobby on our floor at work. No escaping it. Big brother kind of thing.
And to top it off, it always reads at least 98.2-98.5, even when nobody is standing in front of it. So it’s pre-loaded. When I use the handheld, or the “under the tongue” thermometer, I’m consistently at around 97.6-97.8, but the thing always puts me at 98.6+.
It does go up when you hold a hot cup of coffee in front of it. LOL. That’s fun.
What a waste of resources.
