Our smartphones have become such an essential part of our lives that it can sometimes be hard to leave them alone, even when they are charging. But using your phone while you are charging it can be hazardous. It can threaten your life and cause potential damage to your phone. There have been several reports of people either being very seriously injured or killed due to explosions when using their phone while charging.
1. Overheating If you keep using your phone while charging it, it will become prone to overheating – a problem that could cause the harmful chemicals present in the battery to leak, which could cause the battery to explode or the phone could switch off permanently.
2. Creates A Bulge Using your phone while it is charging can cause the battery to expand in size which will eventually lead to the battery exploding. If you feel a slight bump at the back of your phone, there are good chances that its battery has started to bulge already.
3. Affects Charging Capacity While the battery of your phone can last for 18 hours after being fully charged, always using it while charging will spoil the battery, so eventually, you might get just 7 hours of battery life after it is fully charged.
4. Messes Up The Charger If you constantly use your phone while it’s charging, you might end up ruining your charger. You may need to get a new one eventually.
5. Hurt Yourself You are at risk of electrocuting yourself while using your phone when it’s charging. You can lose your life if your battery explodes or you get a severe electric shock.

Just about everything in that article is false.
I design phone chargers and PMICs.
Whenever I pump gas, there is a sign that says to turn off your cellphone. I have never done that. And I pump gas often while using the phone.
I have no problems using my Samsung phone while its charging. Zip...Zero
It may not be good for the phone or charger, but I do it all the time.

Is anything accurate - or have the issues been resolved?
Article was 2016
Thank you
Then why post it?
It was 2019 (!!)
Because I thought it was interesting.
I laughed out loud when ai read this b.s..
Right up there with the b.s. of using cell phone while filling up car’s gas tank will cause explosions.
I never noticed that sign where I pump gas. I see the turn off engine sign but not turn off cell phone
Yes, very dangerous if you get a call from your girl friend when wifey is at home.
I think the real reason for them warning to not use your cell phone while pumping gas is that it's a dangerous distraction.
Pumping gas into your vehicle may seem mundane, but in fact there are real hazards if you do the wrong thing, and paying attention to a cell phone is a great way to do the wrong thing with the pump.
...just another stupid website...
“Using A Mobile Phone while Charging – Is It Dangerous?”
Seems it would depend on how much it costs.
Complete BS. Typical techno-nonsense.
No need for such unnecessary sign. Although best to NOT use cell phone near gas dispenser. Just leave it in your pocket while holding the gas dispenser, or go sit in your car if you must make a phone call. The gas will shut off automatically when tank is full.
In 55 years of filling gas in my cars, ONE time I left left the gas nozzle in the car’s gas hole, and drove off in a hurry. The gas dispenser nozzle was stuck in my car. But they had a quick release joint at the end of hose, so not much harm done except spill a bit of gas on floor of gas station. The attendant just smiled, she had seen this many times before, obviously.
Better hope its not one of those exploding phones from China, igniting the entire gas station.
Just don’t drop it in the tub while you are taking a bath.🤕
Does anyone remember the Samsung Note 7?
