Folks...it is becoming apparent that the Democrats are pursuing policies that are going to collapse our economy. They are also taking steps to make sure they never leave power. What is a person to do? We have the examples of Argentina and Venezuela clearly before us. Anyone have some helpful ideas? Ferfal of Argentina has a blog spot and wrote a book, but information from our situation here would be helpful.
That’s right: if the US Navy blockades your island, and the US airforce firebombs your cities then Gold will not do you any good.
But not all disasters are the same. The world is sliding into a collapse of fiat currency. Get Gold and Silver.
Lead. Lots and lots’O’lead.
Ammunition.
Also maybe a case or two of good booze for trade...
Real property. Hold onto your home, prices will continue to skyrocket.
Used car prices are already crazy high.
If you want to trade - and you will NEED to trade - then get gold and silver.
Only gold and silver overcome the coincidence of wants.
I watch Matt and Fernando (Ferfal) every Sunday on Ferfall’s YouTube channel. They’ve talked about the obvious, silver, ammo, Bitcoin etc. For me, thinking we could go the way of Venezuela, I am spending my $$.
Matt talked about our home becoming our goolag, rather than having enough feds to come after us they just cut off our internet access, our electric, access to banks etc when we refuse to give up our guns or refuse to stop saying the election was stolen.
Therefore, again my personal choice, is to fortify my goolag. Generator, garden, supplies, solar charging apparatus, a new shed and backups for things that might break.
Think about what you need if you can no longer shop. Extra underwear? Extra pair of shoes, socks, toothbrush etc to go along with your survival supplies of food and water, pet food, tools? Things wear out and if our $ is worthless or we have no access to replenish, but and store now.
Agree. Stock up on every non-perishable thing you will need for the next 50 years. Shoes, socks, tools, hardware, more hardware.
I work for a construction company and there is a long wait for building materials. And this is just the beginning.
Precious / semiprecious metals, land.
Agreed. I lost a great deal of money when I realized that the one’s who profit off of buying and selling gold are the ones who sell and buy it on TV. I had the gold bug for a while, but when I had to sell it and needed the money, I figured that I lost about 50K on a 100K investment due to the fees and commissions the TV gold sellers put on it. And really, if you buy gold to be able to sell, who are you going to sell it to? For instance, will have have to sell that double eagle for a loaf of bread??? My recommendation is BE CAREFUL! Don’t listen to everyone that recommends buying and selling. Read the book “One Second After” by William Fortschen for a good outline.
Think of your family’s basic needs. If you haven’t been prepping for this for the last 15 years, you’re way behind.
Water and food are your basic needs and people you can trust. We have a neighborhood network that we can fall back on when times get tough. Everyone has prepared what they can and we can depend on each other for what we need.
Times are going to get really bad.
As others have noted, stocks are probably not the place to be. But I’ve read that blue-chip stocks do relatively well in periods of high inflation. Those companies sell products that people need, and will continue to buy. And so those companies can rise prices as needed.
That’s the theory, anyway.
Take a look at what happened in Texas. When grid went down, what did people need? That’s what you should have.
yep to everything you said
Bitcoin, precious metals. Beside bitcoin, it was ever thus.
I have a Knowledge Base chock full of that type of information. I used to advertise it regularly here on FR but there were too many nitwits so I not only stopped advertising it I will be deleting it entirely next month. Let the nitwits fend for themselves.
Any kind of a fixed rate loan really.
Bkmk
Unless you can’t.
