VANITY: You could go back in time and see one band live at their peak. Who do you choose?

Yes, this is a vanity, because in these times we all need a break, and thats why I come here sometimes. So...who do you choose?

I lived in the San Francisco bay area as a 17 year old in 1967. My rock listening history includes a lot of different eras and genres. So, for me, for a while, CSN was great (Suite, Judy Blue Eyes), but my tastes evolved as Rock evolved although I have to admit that I never grew to love “angry” rock. I got easily side-tracked by the pop side with people like Karen Carpenter, or the country side with Ray Stevens and his biting humor.

There are so many good musicians that have had the stage that it is hard for me to choose just one.

If I did have to choose though, it would be Phil Keaggy.

Well, I’m 68, but I appreciate the level of musicianship of the musicians of that era, especially Goodman.

I was pleasantly surprised when that movie was released. I figured it would be horrible, but it was very funny.

I saw Head East probably around 1978? in a little club/bar outside of Utica NY. They always had great bands perform. I also remember seeing Ian Dury and the Blockheads, and Nick Gilder there. Many more I can’t remember.

Quadrophenia was a dud live unfortunately. They had to go back to playing Tommy at their live gigs.

But the one Who concert I would have loved to have seen was the 1970 Isle of Wight Concert, because they included the best songs, that didn’t make it onto “Who’s Next”, like “Water” and “Naked Eye” and “I Don’t Even Know Myself”.

The Tanglewood Concert from 1970 is for my the best concert video on YouTube, Terry was a force and the engine that drove the band.
