omestication of animals was an amazing feat that changed human relationships with the natural world.
But while a Pomeranian looks nothing like a wolf, a thoroughbred jump horse looks nothing like a wild pony, and a potbellied pig looks nothing like a black boar, ‘domestic’ house cats look pretty much exactly like wild cats.
That’s because they domesticated themselves—not through form, but through function, and research reveals that wildcat ancestors share essentially the same genetics as house cats today.

I was thinking the other day how cats come in all sizes from a male lion that weighs more than 400 pounds while a house cat is 10 pounds.
On the other hand humans do not have such a size disparity. A dwarf might be 3 feet tall while the tallest humans are about 7 feet tall.
The appropriate comparison would be humans, gorillas, orangutans, etc. Though I don't believe any of the great apes are as closely related to humans as, for example, tigers and lions are to each other.

Cats found out they could take a screwdriver to the brains of people, like crazy hot women do.
The rest is history.

Most of our cats have been feral strays. Takes five minutes to tame them.I would disagree.....there was a yellow tabby living under the deck across the street for the past couple of years that I would set food out for her. After three litters, whose offspring eventually disappeared for some reason, she still would never come up to me when I sat a bowl of food out for her.
While I live in a subdivision, she has disappeared. Could be because of a possible coyote in the area whose tracks I have on my phone camera..At least I think they are when comparing them to dog tracks......

what if you ran a laser beam across your wife butt 😂 laser up the wall🤗She would get you your beer and make your sandwich a hell of a lot faster..............

HA! I’ll believe that when our cats scoop their own litter box.

    They don’t have opposable thumbs.
But they do clean themselves very effectively!

I think the true “wild cats” to which he refers actually are quite small and about indistinguishable from your average grey tabby,

"Your cat would kill you if it could."
Roger that.
That's what's so cool about having them around - it's like living on the edge.
Ever see a 600 pound Bengal tiger in the zoo - playing in refrigerator boxes, clawing a tree, snoozing with their paw over their eyes - just like a large version of a house cat.

Not really, from what I see.
In America dogs are basically the rulers while their cuckold owners make excuses for them.
