The Trumpites next door to our pandemic getaway just plowed our driveway without being asked and did a great job. How am I going to resist demands for unity in the face of this act of aggressive niceness? Of course, on some level, I realize I owe them thanks — but how much thanks?
These neighbors are staunch partisans of blue lives, and there aren’t a lot of anything other than white lives in the neighborhood.
This is also kind of weird. Back in the city, people don’t sweep other people’s walkways for nothing.
So when I accept generosity from my pandemic neighbors, acknowledging the legitimate kindness with a wave or a plate of cookies, am I also sealing us in as fellow travelers who are very polite to each other but not so much to “them”?
But the plowing.
On Jan. 6, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) issued a plea for all Americans to love their neighbors. He added, “You can’t hate someone who shovels your driveway.” Maybe my neighbor heard Sasse and was determined to make a bid for reconciliation.
So here’s my response to my plowed driveway. Politely, but not profusely, I’ll acknowledge the Sassian move. With a wave and a thanks, a minimal start on building back trust. I’m not ready to knock on the door with a covered dish yet. I also can’t give my neighbors absolution. Free driveway work, it is just not the same currency as justice and truth. And they probably aren’t looking for absolution anyway.
But I can offer a standing invitation to make amends by recognizing the truth about the Trump administration and, more important, by working for justice for all those whom the administration harmed.

I used to clear the sidewalk of snow from one end of the block to the other. That was about 15 houses that got their sidewalk cleared off just for being my neighbor. I have stopped however because, statistically speaking, 8-9 of those houses are owned by democrats (I live in a big democrat city).
A-HAH! Gullible fool! We Trumpists don’t do things like this to be *nice*! We do it to make you weaker and more dependent, so that you’ll be easy victims when we re-take power!

So give people you don’t know all of your money, don’t ask people with skin a tone or two darker than you to actually follow the laws we have democratically selected for ourselves, and take the livelihood of folks that were born here and give it away to folks that snuck in last week. Oh and quit trying to stay warm or drive a car cuz, ya know, da erf or something...
F-— all of ‘em. If this person puts politics over humanity, maybe we should let them have a place of their own they can give that full throttle. And let them discover for themselves how fast your life becomes a joyless labor in the People’s Republic when you need to spend 100% of your time conforming... even if you like 90% of the stuff you are conforming to.

Man, leftists have gone too far with their God-complex attitudes. How arrogant and intolerant, but many of them really do see anyone who disagrees with them as a sub-human blasphemer. They do not seem to possess the capacity to see things through other points of views without straw men and slanders and to understand that they can be fallible and hurting people themselves.
It’s the first time I’ve seen it, and I’m on Free Republic a lot. I have no idea how many times it might have been posted, but there are new people who will see this. It’s a good article to help our side understand the intolerant left.

But, based on snitch articles like this one, those Trumpites will soon go away to either a re-education camp or a culling site...
