The Trumpites next door to our pandemic getaway just plowed our driveway without being asked and did a great job. How am I going to resist demands for unity in the face of this act of aggressive niceness? Of course, on some level, I realize I owe them thanks — but how much thanks?
These neighbors are staunch partisans of blue lives, and there aren’t a lot of anything other than white lives in the neighborhood.
This is also kind of weird. Back in the city, people don’t sweep other people’s walkways for nothing.
So when I accept generosity from my pandemic neighbors, acknowledging the legitimate kindness with a wave or a plate of cookies, am I also sealing us in as fellow travelers who are very polite to each other but not so much to “them”?
But the plowing.
On Jan. 6, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) issued a plea for all Americans to love their neighbors. He added, “You can’t hate someone who shovels your driveway.” Maybe my neighbor heard Sasse and was determined to make a bid for reconciliation.
So here’s my response to my plowed driveway. Politely, but not profusely, I’ll acknowledge the Sassian move. With a wave and a thanks, a minimal start on building back trust. I’m not ready to knock on the door with a covered dish yet. I also can’t give my neighbors absolution. Free driveway work, it is just not the same currency as justice and truth. And they probably aren’t looking for absolution anyway.
But I can offer a standing invitation to make amends by recognizing the truth about the Trump administration and, more important, by working for justice for all those whom the administration harmed.

“Respect them”
I hope this person has not reproduced. Her cats are enough for her.
Ask this woman why she voted for a return to war.
She needs to get a hobby. She has too much idle time to overthink minor incidents.
Megan Kelly blasted her twisted up attitude in a column a few weeks back.
That’s how we all are, take notes.
This person was thoroughly raked over the coals a couple of weeks ago for this ridiculous screed by people on both sides.
Well what about the guy who cleans your windshield at a red-light and then expects payment. Sasse is as shallow as it gets. It doesn't start with "neighborliness." It starts with the principles that informed the Constitution and are incorporated therein.
What is a “Trumpite”?
This is also kind of weird. Back in the city, people don’t sweep other people’s walkways for nothing.
Isn’t it obvious?
They Leftists - pretty much by definition they’re mentally ill.
Most democrats these days are either undiagnosed clinical psychopaths, Satanically possessed tyrants, or some other twisted combination of the two.
They are all as malicious and dangerous as hell, and should be avoided at all costs.
Challenge them to a duel and shut your damn mouth.
Money on Trumpite.
OK, next time. all the neighborhood Conservatives dump their shoveling into a massive pile at the end of the ‘blue’ driveway right after sundown. . . and spray it down with a hose, then go home.
Besides, that big a chunk of ice will forestall Globull Wormening. . . (evil grin)
Party hardy.

Ha! Ha! The Babylon Bee hits one out of the park again. Oh, wait. This is satire, right?
On a more serious note, what we are seeing here is the sickening power of media propaganda. “Trump bad. Trump supporters bad.” Over and over again.
If the media had instead said “Bread bad. Bread stores bad.” over and over, the author would probably be setting fire to a bakery even as I type this.
See my tag line.

If you were black then it’d be racism since they didn’t think you had the intelligence to do it yourself, they had to do it for you; white supremacy.
“Respect them”
Yes, particularly because they are probably gun owners who will protect the neighborhood.
