A few reasons why a dog may neglect their training include: 1.)neglect by the owners in giving sufficient opportunities to relieve themselves, 2.) a physical illness, 3.) old age, or 4.) new surroundings and confusion on the part of the dog. The last does not normally happen. In my canine experience, most dogs don't like to defecate just anywhere. I have even known some which are quite modest and must believe no one is watching. Those in the last category have even stopped their action when they saw me in the vicinity.

The dog we're training now is in that last category. Good grief.

I agree with you that those dogs should not be used as photo ops. I think, however, that Major is three years old. The place where I read this was a bit unclear, and they may have meant that the Bidens had the dog for three years.

Didn’t think about that; I was just thinking both would involve weapons (especially GUNS) and that’s the end of that!

Seems I read somewhere years ago that they no longer make the strips of paper with a little gunpowder to make a toy gun go bang? May have been called caps, but not sure.
