The father of the Colorado police officer who was killed in the line of duty during a mass shooting in a Boulder supermarket this week said his late son would be âdeeply offendedâ by largely Democratic-led proposals to push gun control.
âMy son would have been deeply offended to know his death would be used to promote gun control. Before he was an officer, he enjoyed shooting,â Homer Talley told TMZ about his son, officer Eric Talley. âTo take away that freedom completely is something I am against and my son was against.â
Talley added that âjust because some wacko goes around shooting people doesnât mean guns need to be taken away. You canât take away enough guns to protect this country.â

CCLD is a branch of the California Department of Social Services that deals with foster family licensing.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a California foster parent named Travis explained, âUsually the maximum amount of children you are allowed to foster at any one time is six. We called our caseworker and she told us that everyone was calling her because they had got that same call.â
âI consider it human trafficking,â he added. âItâs not the burden of taking kids in because we have the heart for it, but these are kids that were taken from the border for a money scheme and now theyâre going to use us resource parents to take care of them.â
Foster families were asked to select bed capacity ranges from 1-10, 11-25, or 26+.
A California foster mother argued, âAt any given point in time there are 30,000 plus children in the L.A. County foster care system alone. So to ask us already certified foster parents to take on children from another country when we can barely take care of our own foster crisis doesnât seem beneficial to either side because either way someone loses a bed.â
While the foster agency Travis uses says they âdonât knowâ where the influx in children is coming from, another agency in the state confirmed, âThey [CCLD] are trying to address the needs of a record number of unaccompanied â
“children who are arriving from Central America who are escaping impossible situations such as poverty, violence and natural disasters.”....impossible conditions? We don’t have those conditions here?
