So now they're going to conduct a reparations commission in congress. Where is everybody pointing out that Britain's Empire was the one who brought the slaves here?
The Founders didn't ignore their role across the ocean. Why do we? Shouldn't we do what our Founders did? That's all.

Unfortunately, you’re missing the point in all this. It’s not that America was bad, or that Britain was bad. It’s that all white people were - and are - bad.
This is not unlike the beginning of Nazi propaganda campaign propaganda campaign against the Jews back in the early 1930s. The Nazis didn’t have to get everyone all riled up. A small minority was enough.
Good folks - both black and white - realize that the same thing is happening here today.

The British Empire outlawed slavery BEFORE the United States did. I don't know where OP is going with this. Western Civilization (led by the UK) deserves immense credit for the global effort to eradicate slavery. Other civilizations didn't want to end slavery -- some still practice it.

That is because every nation in world history since the dawn of time was all-in on slavery, especially the great empires. It was considered a normal state of affairs.
Democrats have enslaved blacks for decades, despised Jews and Catholics (Democrat founded KKK) and yet liberals say the Holocaust was sooo yesterday so drop it already but yet want to reach back over a hundred and fifty years to trash white Americas who gave their lives to end slavery.

Americans should stop fixating on slavery in the past. It was universal.
The secret to success:
1. Learn from the past
2. Live in the present.
3. Prepare for the future.
We have way too many people living in the past. We’ve already learned a great deal from it, e.g. we no longer promote slavery and, in fact, even have made it illegal.
And slavery was a significant part of all cultures for the entire history of mankind, we just recently ended it as “acceptable”. In fact, in the 19th century hundreds of thousands of americans lost their lives and property fighting to end it.
We need to move on.

The Brits did more than everyone else combined to exterminate the slave trade. How about we give ‘em a pass.
Instead why don’t you go after the Moslems, Black and Arab, for their part in the slave trade? They did their own raiding for slaves (unlike the Brits), took far larger numbers of slaves, and continue to practice slavery to THIS VERY DAY.
If there is any slavery going on now, like the sex slave market, focus on that. The past is long gone, the libs need to stop the reparations horsesh*t.
The Portuguese, French, Dutch and Spanish colonists to the New World also imported vast numbers of slaves, mostly from Africa, in a trade that was well supplied by the Muslim traders of both East and West Africa.
So lay the blame on the Muslim people who captured (and are still capturing) slaves in the first place.
So if you are looking for a place to assess guilt, there are your suspects. Excuse them or prosecute them, does anybody in the whole WORLD have the testicular fortitude to proceed?
I know that’s sarcasm, but that’s the message and nobody stands up to point out the opposite. This whole thing necessarily assumes that America invented slavery.
The. British Empire , especially the Royal Navy did more to end slavery around the world than any other organization in history.
Since Western slavers just bought the slaves Africans brought to their coastal trading posts, why don’t you go after black Africans for the violence they perpetrated against their fellows?
