Beto O'Rourke is back is the spotlight as Texas continues to face a statewide crisis.
Hundreds of thousands of Texans remain without power Thursday morning as millions more deal with burst pipes and other consequences of unprecedented winter weather. O'Rourke, the former 2020 Democratic presidential and 2018 Texas Senate candidate, has been making the TV rounds to call out the Republicans who've shifted the blame for the power shortages — and is organizing to check in on senior citizens throughout it all.
On Wednesday night, O'Rourke announced he and volunteers had made more than 150,000 wellness calls to seniors throughout the state. And in an interview with CNN, he called out Republicans, including Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who have inaccurately placed most of the blame for the power failures on Texas' renewable energy sources.

It is astounding how ignorant many FReepers are when it comes to the powers of the federal government and the authority of a state governor.
Sad. . .
I LOVE HIM! He TRIED to get rid of Obama Care but Cornyn shut him up. I hate Cornyun and I do not vote for him. He is a RINO
That and Cruz Derangement Syndrome runs deep in many FReepers.
A fart in the wind for Cruz politically
More than 150,000 wellness calls. Sure they did. And yahoo believes this.
So, Beto is checking on thousands of seniors. Let’s see the call lists, call centers, volunteers making the calls. Don’t hold your breath waiting for proof. If Beto claimed he was scaling wind turbines to defrost them, the media would gladly print his claim—without any confirmation.
Better yet, let’s find a dozen seniors willing to release their phone records showing an actual call from Beto’s group.
If you are so smart, why aren’t you a Senator?
Below is a link to some bill that Cruz co-sponsered to promote energy development in the USA.

The following section is pertinent today, 7 years later. “Elections have consequences”:
**************************
Stop certain EPA regulations that will adversely impact coal and electric power plants. In 2008, President Obama promised to bankrupt coal. As of June 2013, there were already 288 coal units closed or closing in 32 states because of EPA policies. These 288 closures amount to a total of more than 41,000 megawatts of electricity generation no longer being available.
Same reason you aren’t. . .too smart to go into politics.
Debating dems would be like wrestling a pig; you both get muddy but the pig luv’s it.
“Why am I posting this? Because there are dozens of FReepers on dozens of threads today who cannot understand that Cruz made a drastic blunder.”
I am a Freeper and Cruz supporter who believes this was a fatal mistake politically and electorally. I suspect he will never win another election nor ever hold another office of any kind, It is difficult to express how knuckleheaded this was.
Thanks!!
As a point to be made, I offer the following observations:
Post 14, 61, 72, 76 and 109.
Has much needed info.
If he visits and shakes your hand, count your fingers after.
lol
I totally love it. I always love a good meme. Here we are freezing our asses off in Texas while Ted thinks it’s a good idea to go to Cancun.
We elect politicians to take care of these sorts of matters and run things efficiently. It is their job. If it’s up to us to run the electrical grid, or dispense justice, or make our own roads and bridges, why do we need them in the first place?
I’d rather have Cruz who made an optics mistake than El Puta Politico who will grab your guns, support the over running of the US by illegal, and support the communist take over.
“The brothes pet Golden Retriever can also been seen in the photo..”
Ready for publishing by Daily Mail.
LOL.....how far up Teds as* is your head? Or, are you actually Ted?
If so, you’re getting hysterical. 😂
“If you are so smart, why aren’t you a Senator?“
I have thought about it, how much money can you contribute to my campaign?
Or maybe I’ll just go for President.
Go big or go home.
If you play nice I might even look at a cabinet position for you .
Or maybe ambassador to the Bahamas ?
That always sounds like a great job!
