We elect politicians to take care of these sorts of matters and run things efficiently. It is their job. If it’s up to us to run the electrical grid, or dispense justice, or make our own roads and bridges, why do we need them in the first place?

My response was about Beta calling for organizing welfare checks. Not about the grid issue. And no, the operation of the grid is not the responsibility of the politicians either, it's up to the owner/operators. The laws regarding the grid is up to the politicians. Outside of that, they still can't do much, except for call for investigations as to what went wrong, or call for legislation to get out of the way of operating efficiently.
