Beto O'Rourke is back is the spotlight as Texas continues to face a statewide crisis.
Hundreds of thousands of Texans remain without power Thursday morning as millions more deal with burst pipes and other consequences of unprecedented winter weather. O'Rourke, the former 2020 Democratic presidential and 2018 Texas Senate candidate, has been making the TV rounds to call out the Republicans who've shifted the blame for the power shortages — and is organizing to check in on senior citizens throughout it all.
On Wednesday night, O'Rourke announced he and volunteers had made more than 150,000 wellness calls to seniors throughout the state. And in an interview with CNN, he called out Republicans, including Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who have inaccurately placed most of the blame for the power failures on Texas' renewable energy sources.

The Democrats almost never gang up on one of their own for doing something inappropriate.
That’s one of the many reasons why we lose.
I don’t like Cruz and will never vote for him, but this is more about the Ministry of Propaganda’s agenda of gotcha than anything substantive.

Lyn’ Ted set this up by his words and actions. He deserves the wrath directed at him. He should resign.
Yep, he definitely screwed up. This will come back to bite him if he decides to run for president again. The Texas governor isn’t looking so good, either.
Ted lounging in Cancun while Texans freeze to death in their homes with no heat, hot water, and electricity. Big blunder, Ted.
Yup, a mistake by Cruz and a foolish one.
But here are the options to replace him:
1. Primary him and likely get another Cornyn-type who’s often to the left of Mitch McConnell.
2. Stay home and get Beto who’s to the left of Biden.
I wouldn’t mind if they were just shooting themselves in the foot. My problem is they’re shooting the rest of us too.
The narrative morphs from “Ted Cruz is an idiot who doesn’t care about you” to “people on the right don’t care about you, just look at Ted Cruz!”
When you roll out on vacation while people are freezing to death in their homes, that becomes an easy case to make.
Bingo. I refuse to get outraged at something or someone because the media or a lefty politician says I should. I get outraged when it deserves outrage.
If people need politicians to organize this crap, then they’re too stupid to survive. People should already be out there doing this stuff for friends, neighbors and family. Politicians just get in the way.
And he will never, ever let you forget it.
