A few weeks ago, the most earth shattering, ear-splitting alert went off on my cell phone. I thought, “Here we go.”
I looked down. It was an Amber Alert.
When I went to look at it more closely over an hour later just out of curiosity as to what county they were targeting, thinking maybe it was so loud because someone went missing right close to me for a change (I was home at the time—so there was no reason for me to look at the message right away to see if I could possibly locate the vehicle they were looking for), the message was gone.
I have never had that happen before. In the past, the alerts stayed on my phone as text messages and I had to manually delete them.
