Just wondering if any of my fellow Freepers are, like me, spending Christmas Eve solo.
Unlike previous years, however, I'm not quite alone, as I am now sharing my home with a two year old Greyhound I adopted last Spring.
Other than he and I, it's a cozy, quiet, peaceful and solo Christmas Eve. How about everyone else?
I am about to cut up vegetables for a dish that I hope my family is not able to enjoy because they decide not to come tomorrow because I really don’t want to put up with them.
(I didn’t invite them. The family I live with did. Boy, do I regret not buying that condo.)
I don’t want to fight with them over masks.
If the bad weather holds up, I may get my wish.
I am sorry you are alone if you don’t want to be.
This plandemic stuff makes it difficult to find and be with likeminded people since you can’t easily make new friends. And I guess friends who would otherwise be inclined to invite you over, they don’t want to run afoul of any of their Karen family members who might be coming over.
Merry Christmas. I would rather be alone with booze rather than face another night with my anti-Trump relatives. They’re the minority but obnoxious to a point.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
Population wise you made a huge change. You may have lived
in rural area in NY but it must be different.
Thank you, but I'm fine with it. I enjoy the peace. I'm blessed to be able to go to mom's tomorrow and spend the day with family.
Tonight, it's just me, my dog, George Bailey and some nice malbec.
I’ve got the animals with me. . .Doogie Dog, Doggie Dog, cats Big Bro and Lil Sis, our Free Republic Family, but most importantly my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who was born to die for each of us. That if we believe, the Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, ready to help us along life’s way. Have a blessed Christmas everyone. Keep CHRIST in your CHRISTmas.
I can relate.
Trust me.
Merry Christmas.
Any loners east of Austin? You can come and be with us on Christmas day. PM me.
No one is ever really alone. You just might not be able to see the people.
Alone tonight too. Kinda lonely but tomorrow will be with family.
You will never be alone as God will always be with you.
Oh, that’s good that you aren’t going to be alone entirely.
I get that people want to be alone the day before Christmas.
All the holiday fanfare stuff can be draining even in the best of times.
I just keep silent. I try to preserve the peace. IF they make the mistake of asking me, I tell them what I think. They know that so they don't ask. So I let them spout off about how bad Covid is, how bad Trump is and how Biden will save the world. I try to be the bigger guy. It is Christmas after all.
Merry Christmas fellow Freeper.

Oh, no masks and no alcohol (sorry about that - I know we’re strange).
I am alone in Christmas eve for the first time in my life but it is mostly because I apparently piddled around too late trying to secure vacation time so guess who had to cover for nearly 5 different regions today because everyone else was quicker to secure their holiday vacation time early. 😔
Not alone, but neither are you...you have us! A big hug for Christmas!
THE most important thing to remember every Christmas season!
We’re all here
A greyhound is a great companion. I still mourn the late Ash, best dog on earth, after seven years.
