What are your favorite Christmas movies? Please include heartwarming family-friendly movies even if they are not specifically Christmas-oriented.
I would include a recent classic, Christmas Oranges, and favorites from better eras like The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, Its A Wonderful Life, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Frosty The Snowman, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
What would you add to that list?
Those are the subject of most commercials.
Political incorrectness is welcome.
She was amazing.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas”
Ditto...big time!
A movie/cartoon, in today’s communist environment, would never be allowed to be created.
The Shop Around the Corner
Was ‘ghosts of girlfriends past’ with Matthew McConaughey a version of ‘A Christmas Carol?’ I saw it recently again and really enjoyed it.
Being Mr. Potter was the negative consequence.
I love that.
Always enjoyed “Trapped in Paradise”
Especially when Linus explains to Charlie Brown what Christmas is all about:
“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding
in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men.”
—Book 42, Luke (002:08-14)
The Bible, King James Version
Annnd that’s why I ripped the DVD to my Network Area Storage and play it off my media server
Lethal Weapon.
She was great with Fred MacMurray in Remember the Night.
Added to list.
Santa Claus Conquers The Martians ...
Yes on A Christmas Carol w/Alistair Sim
The best version and the best Christmas movie!
Anything else is “Humbug! I tell you, Humbug!”
I hadn’t seen that one until about three or fours years ago. It’s pretty much the first Christmas movie I watch every year. That and “Christmas in Connecticut” (my wife’s favorite; she adores S.Z. Sakall).
Catherine Stewart, Muse Watson and Cameron Ten Napel.
I agree with most selections here, but tend to look for this one.
Haven't seen it in a few years though. It is a little slow, but heart warming.
Watched MMiSL for the first time this past weekend. Adding it to the list of the must-see Christmas list.
