The Best Christmas Movies In Your View
Arcadian Empire ^ | Three Days Before Christmas | Arcadian Empire

What are your favorite Christmas movies? Please include heartwarming family-friendly movies even if they are not specifically Christmas-oriented.

I would include a recent classic, Christmas Oranges, and favorites from better eras like The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, Its A Wonderful Life, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Frosty The Snowman, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

What would you add to that list?

I saw a real good one called The Christmas Bunny (2010) starring Florence Henderson.

No this is not some sappy Hallmark cookie cutter movie. You won't even recognize Florence Henderson.

This is a family movie dealing with an abused foster child who is taken in by a good family, a family with their own set of problems. It is quietly faith based and you will have to watch for it; it is not "in your face". This is a realistic drama, ultimately with a happy resolution.

It is free to stream on Tubi (a pretty good free channel I might add).

Don't confuse this with another movie by the same name made in 2015.

"Mr. Potter receives no negative consequences for his theft of the money."

You must have never seen the lost ending to It's A Wonderful Life.

Second place is either “A Christmas Carol” - 1938, or “Scrooge” - 1951. Both are good in their own ways.

My favorite version of A Christmas Carol is the George C Scott 1984(?) one.

Come to the Stable. Nominee for several Oscars in the late 40’s.

Meet Me in St. Louis.. not truly a Christmas movie as it covers all four seasons.. I just love to hear Judy sing ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.’ She is stunning in this...

Interesting trivia about the 1938 MGM "A Christmas Carol": June "Lassie" Lockhart and her dad Gene Lockhart are both in it together.

I am surprised Christmas Vacation hasn’t been listed more, a true classic.

Another is the grinch who stole Christmas, the one where Jim Carey plays the grinch. Absolutely the best grinch character ever, and mighty relevant considering 2020 and all.

Interesting trivia about the 1938 MGM “A Christmas Carol”: June “Lassie” Lockhart and her dad Gene Lockhart are both in it together.

His wife, Kathleen, played his wife in the movie as well.

Gene Lockhart also played the Judge in Miracle on 34th Street.
