What are your favorite Christmas movies? Please include heartwarming family-friendly movies even if they are not specifically Christmas-oriented.
I would include a recent classic, Christmas Oranges, and favorites from better eras like The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, Its A Wonderful Life, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Frosty The Snowman, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
What would you add to that list?
Well golly, I want to see that one for sure. 8>)
It’s a Wonderful Life, followed by A Christmas Story.
[A Christmas Carol, 1951, Alastair Sim as Scrooge.]
Yes, that is the best one. Black and white. Been a long time since I saw the opening but here’s how IMDB has it.

Alastair Sim ... Ebenezer Scrooge
Only I didn’t say Fudge.
I own some sort of “special edition” DVD of “A Christmas story.” I’ve never really thought it was a very good movie, though it has some good moments and was a great story. I suppose it’s mainly the execution that I don’t like.
Adding “Christmas Carol” with Patrick Stewart, or one of the really old versions.
Santa called him “Lee Majors! The Six Million Dollar Man!”
Lee’s been a real good boy this year!
Did you know, as a matter of trivia, the movie was technically in violation of the Hays Code? The Hays Code indicated that any criminal act shown would have to be balanced, within the film, with an arrest, punishment or similar negative consequence for the wrongdoer.
Mr. Potter receives no negative consequences for his theft of the money.
Christmas vacation is a tradition for us now. And it’s not that I have a log.
A MAJOR AWARD!!!!!
Mr. Potter receives no negative consequences for his theft of the money.
Given the current state of things, that sounds painfully familiar.
Of course Die Hard. No Christmas is complete without Hans Gruber!
Yeah. Not my favorite, but if I could have only one Christmas movie that epitomized the American dream in the Christmas experience, it would be White Christmas. That’s around the time our modern version of Santa, thanks to Coca Cola was created too.
The Homecoming. It was the start of the TV Show The Waltons.
On YouTube. 8>)
The one response to the post complains:
Sound is awful. . .in and out!
Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Gremlins, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
“Mr. Potter receives no negative consequences for his theft of the money.”
Nice little bit of trivia.
Bad Santa. Die Hard. Gremlins. Rare Exports. One of those for sure.
One Magic Christmas——Harry Dean Stanton
A Christmas Carol———George C Scott
A Christmas Story....
It’s a Wonderful Life....
