100% of my gifts being delivered by the USPS are late. 100% of my gifts being delivered by FedEx and UPS have arrived on time.
The tracking info for the USPS also has a big lie. They say that they could not reach my front door because my driveway was not clear of snow. That was on Saturday, and my driveway was cleared hours after last week's storm.
Everyday I see UPS and FedEx drivers hustle through my neighborhood. They are working their butts off. They are also seem happy, at least the guy who just dropped off a package. I heard his truck and I rushed to the front door to greet him since he usually drops the package and rings the door bell. I had a gift waiting for him as I really appreciate his effort. I put the gift together Saturday after seeing him hustle so much. He was taking short cuts through the snow to get to front doors. I thought to myself at the time that his feet must be getting cold if he was doing that all day. He could have taken his time and run up people's driveways, but apparently that wasn't his plan.
I work for the USPS. They bit off more than they can chew.
Ups and FedEx don’t have to stop at every house in the neighborhood either. I’ve delivered everything I’ve been given. Covid fears has taken its toll on our clerks and unions back them up if they feel unsafe. My customers love me because I take care of them. if they have a problem they come to me first. I love what I do but the postoffice can’t keep up. They take away services and expect to make more money.
UPS/FEDx/amazon are amazing businesses....
ALL carriers are being hammered!
What do you expect? We’re “locked down” for the most part. Some more than others of course, but normal modes of getting what you need/want, have been hobbled.
You want blame someone? Blame the ChiComs!
I like that idea. Bigly !
If you live in a rural area, it could be that your “mailman” is an incompetent boob! My wife has been doing a rural route (contractor-not USPS) and the last 2 Christmases she’s been getting gifts and cards and money from thankful people on her route. She’s blown away. She says, “I’m literally just doing my job.” People have been starved of competent workers.
Additionally, Amazon is likely making money hand over fist because the USPS is contracted to deliver Amazon packages up here. And it’s been an incredible year.
The USPS is really mad that they can’t control the federal budget.
For one of the packages that the USPS lost I was actually able to talk to a human being.
She said, "The tracking detail that you (me) can see shows that your package went from [small town in Georgia] to Macon, to Atlanta, and then to Lexington. But the last time your package was actually scanned was in Macon. It was supposed to go into a container, and that container was supposed to go to Atlanta, and your package was supposed to be transferred to another container to Lexington. The tracking that the customer sees is what's supposed to happen, not what actually does happen." I finally got it a few days late.
Ha. They are terrible. They are nasty and they steal.
I have had so much stolen in the mail. They also made sure some people never got their absentee ballots. I got an envelope mailed from my own zip code, it arrived almost 3 weeks late. Why? It was right before the election. They slow walked all the mail.
I’m having the same experience. UPS ad FedEx are amazing.
Uses is stuck with all the amazon.com packages
Our regular mail service sucks. It took 10 days for a card to travel 40 miles. My daughter said she could have walked it here faster. We haven’t received our cable bill in ..idk? 3 or 4 months now. Its gotten to the point we write the due date on our calendar and just drive it in. Anything I order from my vets pharmacy comes USPS....what used to take 3 days now takes a minimum of 10 days sometimes 14 days or better to get here. Yet my orders from Chewy....they come Fed-Ex....they are here in 2 days!
So far Amazon lost one of my purchases, they refunded the cost. I found it locally at Target. Every thing else arrived as expected .
The USPS is worthless. I sent a package from Florida to Washington state marked PERISHABLE on Dec 15 by PRIORITY mail. Estimated delivery date was the 18. As of 12/22 it was still sitting in Tampa, the first step on its journey.
“They need workers alright, they have plenty of employees though...”
and we have a WINNER!!!
I especially like getting notices that they attempted to drop off a package but no one was here even though i was in the office all day.
They only do that on Saturdays at least.
I had several Amazon packages disappear from the local Post Office, mostly books, but one was a $1000 camera lens. Amazon made good on all of it, but still...
Sam here. Ordered many things on Thanksgiving Day. All were delivered in less than 10 days, many sooner EXCEPT for 4 that came through USPS. 18 days, 19 days, & 20 days.
3 sat in Memphis where I live for 4-7 days before they delivered them.
I run a mail order business. I process over 160 orders a month. I have not had a single package that was actually lost for the last several years. I have seen some examples of Post Office incompetence regarding packages that were returned to me, but overall, I regard the system as efficient.
I ordered socks from Burlinton, NC on Dec 3rd. Thay are still ‘in transit’ today I could have driven oner there and picked them up in much less time than the ‘mail’ is handling them. I’m in East Tennessee and Burlington is not that far away. The tracking shows they went through Atlanta a week ago, on their way, supposedly, to East Tennessee.
Have have an item that has been awaiting the post office “package may be delayed, adjusting delivery plans for the last 12 days. Supposedly it has arrived at the local post office. I think they don’t know where the package is, and they’ll deliver it if and when it turns up.
