"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.

Know your Nautical terminology
Animals on the Forecastle (pronounced FOLK-sul)
There is a long tradition of ships carrying animals on board dating back to Noah. Whether they were food, cargo, or pets they were there. In today's Navy they are clustered on the forecastle in the names of various items.
The number of animals varies depending on who you ask. They include but aren't limited to: Monkey's Fist, Cats Paw, Hawse (horse) Pipe, Bullnose, Wildcat, Whelps, Rat Guard, Jack Ass, Fish Plate, Pelican Hook, Cats Head.
Fish Plate and Pelican Hook 
The inboard anchor fluke is resting on the 'fish plate'. The stock of the anchor is hanging from the 'cats head'.
