I'm just asking here if anybody knows what caused Karl Marx to turn away from God and become and avowed Satanist and an occultist?
I've tried to find information on what may have been the reason or reasons, but there is scant information on this.
Is there any information out there?
Vanities. Vanities drove him mad.
Who can say what is in another’s heart?
Often we can’t tell the reasons for our own feelings or preferences.
The only thing I can think of that might have caused him to end up hating God is either he was a repressed homosexual, who gave up trying to resist and felt condemned, or that perhaps he tried drugs that he thought led him to a higher plane of thinking and thought that God was holding out on mankind.
Marx knew that a God Believing people would never accept communism, because it is against human nature.
A belief in God, acknowledges that there is something out side of humans that is a Superior Being, and then communism would never be accepted.
Oil and water.
The state has to be the highest power.
I would speculate that like most of the evil people of the world, he had issues with his father.
This would also explain why individual rights are not important. You have no standing to defy the decrees of the state because it is god. In his scheme, everything has to bow to the state-god. Rivals are not tolerated.
The state has to be the highest power.

As to the allegation of the Communist that religion makes men passive, we have only to observe that the dynamic power of religious convictions is precisely what prevents a soundly religious person from accepting Communist oppression and Communist mandates. A person practicing the teachings of the Judaic-Christian philosophy will not lie or steal on command. He will not shed innocent blood. He will not participate in the diabolical Communist practice of genocide - the systematic extermination of entire nations or classes. It is clearly evident from the numerous Communist writings that what they fear in religion is not that it makes religious people passive to the dominant class but that it prevents them from becoming passive to Communist discipline. Deep spiritual convictions stand like a wall of resistance to challenge the teachings and practices of Communism. Furthermore, the Communist sees in the dynamic ideology of Judaic-Christian teachings a force for peace which cuts through the vitals of Communism's campaign for world-wide revolution.
The influence of Feuerbach on Marx shaped his views on many things. The father of lies won the debate.
I would suggest starting here.... there are a few books on Marx that also hit the mark, but most of them recognize the importance of Feuerbach and how that shaped his thinking about your question.

Marx was focused on materialism and came to believe that religion was simply another ideology used by the oppressed to justify their oppression. It has been a few years since I read on this, but that is what I took away from it.
All of us have people in our lives who greatly impact and shape our worldview and philosophy. Had Marx been persuaded by Bastiat the world might be a much different place.
You can read about Ludwig Feuerbach here on wiki and it’s a pretty fair page I think. I had not looked at him in a long time.

I never heard he was a Satanist.
Marx was a loser/moocher who lived only on the handouts of others. Why his cracked philosophy has become so widespread is a testament to the basic stupidity of too many human beings.
Marx appeals to looter/moocher mentalities. People who want to live well without having to work. Which is the basic definition of a criminal.
He hates because he chooses the deadliest sin of pride, and refuses to serve God. Just as satan said I will not serve! Nor does Marxism.
Where did you hear that he was an “avowed Satanist”?
I would say he hates God because his belief in communism relieved him of self determinism.
-He didn’t believe in free will. In his view we are all just consequences of our situation around us and thus not responsible for what and who we are from the communist perspective.
That way there is no good and evil, no God and Satan, no blame for the hell we create in our lives as to the choices we make because they are determined for us by our environment.
And the ends justify the means....
To achieve his goal, Marx required two things: First, the total annihilation of all opposition, the downfall of all existing governments, all economies and all societies. Then, he wrote, I shall stride through the wreckage a creator!Since you mention that the kind of man Marx was, and that the types of human beings who are most susceptible to his way of thinking fit the basic definition of criminals, I figured that the passage from the book that listed the 45 communist goals for the USA was apropos for this thread.
The second thing he needed was a new kind of human being.
He visualized a regimented breed of Pavlovian men whose minds could be triggered into immediate action by signals from their masters. He wanted a race of men who would no longer depend upon free will, ethics, morals or conscience for guidance. Perhaps, without quite realizing it, Marx was setting out to create a race of human beings conditioned to think like criminals.
Producing such a race had been the dream of power-hungry men for more than 4,000 years. Nimrod had projected the design, Plato polished it, Saint-Simon sublimated it now Marx materialized it.
Today, this breed of criminally-conditioned man walks the earth in sufficient numbers to conquer countries or continents, to change laws and boundaries, to decree war or peace.

Marx’ father was a Rabbi. Was his father a Kabbalist? I don’t know. But if so, it might have something to do with those who claim his son was a satanist.
On the other hand, I have heard that his father was against the satanic direction he was headed down.
