When I did receive my infusion, I was always amused at the nurse who, requiring someone to watch and make sure that the correct med was going to the correct patient, just prior to hooking it up, would call out, “I need a witness.”
Once I answered, “Hallelujah!”
For those not from the southern culture, in many churches here, a speaker might after making a point will say, “Can I get a witness?” The responses from the congregation (please, never “audience”) will be “Hallelujah!”, “Amen,” or “Praise Jesus!”
