A new poll finds Joe Biden stretching his lead over President Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania as late-breaking undecided voters say they intend to back the Democratic presidential nominee.
The latest survey of likely voters in the three former “blue wall” states from the Elections Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison finds Biden nearly doubling his lead in each state compared to last month.
Crucially, Biden is above the 50 percent mark in all three states, while Trump remains mired in the low to mid-40s.
In Michigan, Biden leads by 10 points, 52 to 42. Five percent of voters remain undecided. The same poll from September found Biden with a 6-point advantage.
The poll from Wisconsin finds Biden leading 53 to 44, with 3 percent undecided. Biden’s 9-point advantage is up from 4 points in September.
The closest state is Pennsylvania, where Biden leads 52 to 44, with 3 percent undecided. Biden has grown his lead from 4 points in September to 8 points now.

How many Trump votes have been trashed so far

The number of people isn’t the problem, here. It’s which people they sampled. Registered or likely voters, how many D/R/I, etc. If they could truly get 800 people at random the result should be fairly accurate. If they properly calculate proportions of D/R/I they can get additional accuracy. That’s not what they do, though. They cherry-pick people to get results they want and they use non-representative proportions to bias the outcome. But, again, 800 is a decent sample size, other considerations aside.

ugh... just ranting here... i am feeling fearful too... i remember we told ourselves this in 2008 with McCain/Palin (although Obama was a very popular candidate) and the same with Romney... and we lost... in my head, i cannot see how Biden can win... but dang it--the media! back in early March, when proms were being cancelled, my heart would fall toward my tippy toes daily because i knew it meant this--Trump and the election... back in January there was no way he would lose... Covid-19, the media and the left... game changer...
Rasmussen shows the race tightening--which is predictable if the polls are skewed... so this is what i really do believe... that as we go further into the week, the pollsters, to save face, will show the race tightening... okay... i'm off the ledge...
I agree the sample size is adequate if the sample is truly representative of the population. In terms of statistical theory, I'd be much more concerned with the abysmal response rates that the polling organizations are getting. The non-respondents are in all likelihood systematically different than the respondents which raises serious questions about a tainted sample.

I guess Republicans need not show up, huh? What BS...If all of these polls turn out the way we think they will be after the election, we should organize a campaign to shut them up in the future, forever...they are worse than worthless..

They say this even as Republicans are outvoting Democrats in early voting in Wisconsin and are almost even with Democrats in early voting in Michigan.
