PALM BEACH, Florida -- Radio legend Rush Limbaugh updated Americans on the status of his stage 4 lung cancer on Monday, indicating his latest scans for the deadly disease are not encouraging.
"The scans did show some progressions of cancer," Limbaugh said on his national broadcast. "Prior to that the scans had shown that we had rendered the cancers dormant ... we had stopped the growth."
Although the latest news is not showing improvement in his health, Limbaugh put the situation in perspective when looking back on his first treatment attempts when he was initially diagnosed this past winter...

Cancer SUCKS..what Rush has, lung cancer, its very tricky. We know someone who has battled it for over a year now, he takes some sort of chemo pill for it and its keeping him alive(He’s my nephew’s friend’s grandfather) its hard but to prolong life its worth it. I pray for the best for Rush, he’s a good man, been through a lot..praying that he can keep battling and be able to be with us for a very long time
Damn shame. My prayers go out to him.
Father please help Rush to put cancer in remission. This is a man who is needed and more importantly a man who is loved.
Here is the link to the transcript of Rush’s opening brief on his cancer:

Rush deserves another medal for fighting the good fight against cancer.
May he finish the race in peace and tranquility.
Healing prayers being said, for our dear El Rushbo!
It was tough to hear. I doubt many of us realized how fast things COULD have gone... and, just how lucky we are to still be hearing Rush today
Before any of this came to light, I was personally convinced that Rush planned to retire, shortly after Trump’s re-election. It breaks my heart to see people robbed of well-deserved retirements.
Oh well... PRAYING for Rush, Daily.
I made an appointment for GI doc next monday.
At this point, 7 years behind on 1 year follow up for 3cm polyp removed and pre cancerous cells in stomach removed.
Have Barrett’s
I’m an idiot.
Seeing my 1 year old grand nephew yesterday...well, I want to be around to buy his his first drum set when he’s 12.
Prayers out for Rush.
He’s a tough guy.
I don’t know if I could handle it so well as he has.
Not sure if there are any Michael Savage fans here, but he put out a pretty repugnant tweet about Rush today:
“Limbaugh’s crying about his cancer on air! Worst 15 minutes in radio history! Spilled a large coffee all over counter and floor. I PROMISE MY AUDIENCE THIS- I WILL NOT DRAG YOU DOWN WITH ME! Best wishes RUSH, but stop and leave the stage with dignity.”
Yeah today was a bit of a downer. He did reveal that they didn’t think he would make it till October when he was diagnosed. There is no one like him. No one. Prayers and then more prayers.
Ditto. Rush is in my prayers every day. A good man.
Please Dear Lord, help this good man in his fight against lung cancer. If it is Your will, please bring him back to good health. Amen.
What I have found is that everyones cancer experience is different. There are amazing things being done every day.
When my wife was diagnosed her oncologist told her dont read anything older than a year. Things were changing that quickly.
20 years ago not only would Rush have faced a death sentence...he would not be here this long. I pray that he beats the odds. I hold out that all cancer treatments will improve and not be as toxic.
The whole process sucks.
Bless Rush. And we are blessed to still have him around.
My brother has Barretts..he didnt take the meds for years, ate things he shouldnt, never had any pain til he had the endoscopy done which confirmed it..doc said that with his case, as long as he takes the meds it will likely never become cancer..just have to take care of it..God Bless you hoping for your continued recovery. My Mom had uterine cancer two yrs ago, was caught super early, stage 1, had a complete hysterectomy(She is now 71 today’s her birthday) she goes every 3 months to the oncologist to check inside make sure everything looks good. Rush is tough, God bless him he’s fighting I know its been really hard on him I cant imagine the suffering, to do all that to just have another day, everyday is precious
Disgusting thing for Savage (Michael Weiner) to say.
Limbaughs crying about his cancer on air! Worst 15 minutes in radio history! Spilled a large coffee all over counter and floor. I PROMISE MY AUDIENCE THIS- I WILL NOT DRAG YOU DOWN WITH ME! Best wishes RUSH, but stop and leave the stage with dignity.
That's's one of the most petty, mean spirited, ungracious and envious things I've ever read. Savage is a mere piss ant.
“Not sure if there are any Michael Savage fans here, but he put out a pretty repugnant tweet about Rush today:”
I like some of the things he has done but he seems to suffer from bouts of JEALOUSY and can get real nasty. When he gets in those moods I turn him off.
You’re not an idiot.
The thing about life is that none of us get out alive.
We each deal with that harsh fact in our own way.
My mother hated doctors or anything to do with medicine.
She lived exactly six days after her diagnosis, which was
exactly the way she would have wanted it. No time wasted
sitting and worrying.
A good statement. I don’t want to diminish anyone’s efforts but five year survival rates are well under 10%. At some point the focus turns to pallative care, but it doesn’t sound like he’s at that point yet.
