What took them so long. The last time I went to a theater was because my wife really wanted to see War Horse. Meh. It was better at home when we streamed it a few months ago.

I really enjoyed Avatar in imax 3D. Other than the eye candy aspect, the movie sucked, though. I also saw episode 1 of star wars when it hit the theaters because I had free passes. But that’s my moviegoing history this century.

A halfway decent home theater and 55” flat screen at home is literally better than the theater experience. Why bother?

I think this lockdown is bringing a lot of changes that were waiting in the wings. The biggest one is Work From Home. That is a serious game - and culture - changer. I feel for owners of commercial real estate in cities. They are going to take a serious bath on this.

I felt bad for the movie theater businesses, but they only exist to feed the leftist America hating prima donnas who make crap movies that no one will watch unless they take off their clothes and use the F bomb as the only adjective and adverb in the script.

I think she’s wrong. It is a reversible process. But it will likely return as a genuine attraction with comparatively few films a year which will be presented as large, “event” type experiences.

But she’s right in the respect that the overwhelming majority of films can go right to home streaming. Nobody outside of the business will care.
