According to The New York Times, potentially 90 percent of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 have such insignificant amounts of the virus present in their bodies that such individuals do not need to isolate nor are they candidates for contact tracing. Leading public health experts are now concerned that overtesting is responsible for misdiagnosing a huge number of people with harmless amounts of the virus in their systems.
“Most of these people are not likely to be contagious, and identifying them may contribute to bottlenecks that prevent those who are contagious from being found in time,” warns The Times.”

Yes, I think if the same standard that has been used in previous years to tally “flu deaths” was used, that would be fair. I apologize if that’s what is being said because I’m not interested enough to dive into the data and from an overview of the CDC report it didn’t jump out at me.
If a person with heart disease caught covid and went into the hospital, developed pneumonia, went on a ventilator and died - that would be a covid death to my way of thinking. But, the same scenario where the person died of a heart attack before going to the hospital (or even after), obviously should not be. The gray area is when the virus pushes a person with pre-existing conditions over the edge, which is why I say it would probably ltake a post mortem to tell for sure.

Back in the 1970s, a guy in a position to know told me that Wisconsin was the state most likely to have some sort of connection to any given exotic dancer/stripper. Not being familiar enough with that particular subset of femininity to investigate, I had no way of verifying this but have always assumed he was telling it like it was (and apparently still is).
It is too bloody close to Chicago for its own good, but so is Iowa nowadays.
