Marjorie Taylor Greene's path to Congress has been strewn with controversy. Politico dug up her history of disparaging Black people and Muslims. She's unapologetic about the anti-Semitic tropes she has used to describe George Soros.
But it's another kind of extremism that drew the spotlight to Greene's victory Tuesday in the Republican primary runoff in Georgia: She has promoted the conspiracy theory QAnon, or Q.
The baseless QAnon conspiracy sprang from right-wing message boards in 2017. Those who buy into it think President Trump is leading a secret war against Satan-worshiping pedophiles in the deep state. They believe a figure known only as Q is helping and leaving encrypted messages for "digital soldiers" of the movement to decode.
The watchdog group Media Matters for America counts 19 congressional candidates with links to QAnon who will be on the ballot in November. Many are long shots. But not Greene, whose primary win in a deep red House district means she's all but assured a seat in Congress. Greene has embraced the QAnon conspiracy in a series of social media posts in recent years.

Nothing I've seen has ever convinced me that they're anything but an internet poster who lucked into an incredibly credulous and uncritical audience.

Ridiculous?
Yesterday General Flynn changed his banner to “digital soldiers “
Last month General Flynn took part in the viral Q “pledge to support the constitution, followed by WWG1WGA, Q’s slogan”

FWIW, General Flynn IS a ‘Rat....

I recall Maxwell Smart had some fun password phrases.
Get Smart was one of my favs growing up. I’d like to binge watch that to see how it holds up.
Ricardo Monteban hates tortillas
Here too.
Bernie Kopell’s finest role, IMO.
I could have done without serial husband alleged playboy Doc Bricker. :-)
This can all be put to rest if the media would simply ask President Trump the question.
“Q is clearly someone closely connected to the White House”
No, he’s not. Seriously, the “proofs” they have of that are holes.
For example, someone who is close to the White House could take an actual photo aboard Air Force One, and wouldn’t have to photoshop a photo they stole from an old magazine article and pass it off as their own. That right there destroys the whole idea that Q is actually someone with any real access.
He’s a 4chan nerd who was trolling people. Just another in a long line of “Anon”s claiming to have insider information, who were actually just making stuff up for fun. He probably never thought it would get this big, and when it did, and all of his predictions failed spectacularly, he disappeared.
Then, after a few months, someone starting posting as “Q” on 8chan, but there is no actual evidence that this was the original “Q” from 4chan, and there is quite a bit of evidence that the 8chan “Q” was actually a different group of people who decided to take up the name so as to have an instant platform, since the original “Q” had abandoned it.
Soros even admits that he assisted the Nazi's in taking all of the possessions owned by Jews.
Oops, that should have read “full of holes”.
The number of lies in an NPR story is directly proportion to the number adjectives and adverbs it contains.
I think Q is a fake, ...
.... for something that is fake, these a$$hats in the MSM sure do spend a lot of time attacking and trying to convince us that it is fake.
Q is brain poison
..... and would seem that you know all about it. Hmmm?
I don’t think so, but they haven’t asked him about faking the moon landing, chem trails, or the flat earth either.
Sure. Yet where are the arrests and indictments? It’s been 3 1/2 years.
The media is chock full of idiots. They believed in the VRWC for a time. They parrot any leftwing nonsense. Just because they attack the idea of Q doesn’t mean Q exists.
Need ACTION. Not more words.
