On its Facebook page, the Huntsville location of Johnny Gryll’s restaurant says, “Come on in, everyone welcome.”

But owner Mike Heffelfinger is barring his doors to six state and local officials -- including Gov. Kay Ivey, Alabama State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle -- because they say people in Alabama must wear face masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

Heffelfinger announced Wednesday that the officials are “indefinitely banned” from entering his location of Johnny Gryll’s, 6125 University Drive Northwest in Huntsville. In statements posted on the restaurant’s website and Facebook page, Heffelfinger said:

“The following individuals are banned indefinitely from entering Johnny Gryll’s (Huntsville) restaurant:

I posted last week, that my wife and I, siblings across the land, friends from coast to coast, small business owners in person and on the internet had discussed this mask insanity issue. We decided that the Karens and the Howard Hughes were approaching dangerous levels re their mask insanity.

So most of us have ordered cheap throw away masks to wear so, not to trigger these Insane Ma$kholes. We keep them in our vehicles, and our wives carry a couple in their purses from them and us.

Good. That’s how it’s got to begin...along with lawsuits on constitutional grounds.

I saw that the State AG in Louisiana came out and said that their noxious governor’s orders were unconstitutional. I hope he pursues it.

Usually I would say that the first order of any business, is to get the customers money without throwing obstacles in the their path.

In this case however, I’m with the proprietors.

Their clientele will now ALL be similar thinking.

I wish them much success !

Maybe he figures ....WTH, I’m going to probably go out of business , thanks to these idiots, so why not call them all out, on my way out.?

This is a sad time for these restaurant owners.

Heartbreaking.

If you’re wearing a mask, why would you care if I’m not?

Your mask works, right?

*Ma$kholes*

LOVE IT!!!!

I've done the same. I don't wear one unless I HAVE to, which happens to include medical appointments which I NEED to keep.

I also ignore the arrows on the floors in the supermarkets.

Honestly, those are such a stupid idea. If everyone is going in one direction, then they are continually breathing the air of the person in front of them, IOW, they are continually walking through that persons vapor trail or COVID virus plume that they are expelling, just the same as if you were walking behind a smoker walking thorugh their smoke cloud.

So for the entire 20-30 minute trip to the store, if you are behind an infected person, you will be exposed to their expelled viral load the entire trip, all 20-30 minutes.

That's a LOT of exposure.

If you walk in the other direction, you CROSS their plume or vapor trail and only inhale a minute amount of their viral load that they are expelling. And if you hold your breath, you may not get any.

I'll take my own path, thankyouverymuch.

Good luck with that next “health and safety inspection”. Not saying the restaurant is wrong. Just expect pushback from all politicians questioning their judgment. Hey, Governor Abbott is still alive and kicking in Texas. If he can get away with this nonsense and not get *serious* pushback from Texans, anyone can.

Don’t know....but she (KI) came to our town for a fundraiser (or some such) that was catered.

People who were there told me she was rude as hell (allegedly).

(Allegedly) told her staff to get her out of “this one horse town” and took her to McD’s.

Of course the governor of Alabama is not a regular at this restaurant. Kay Ivey was born in Camden Alabama, went to school in Auburn, Alabama and she’s been in State Government (meaning she’s been living in Montgomery )since at least 2003.

I’m sure she has at least visited Huntsville, but I suspect that the next time she goes to this restaurant will be her first time.

But I think banning her is a great idea. I hereby ban Governor Ivey from my house! If she shows up at my doorstep I will refuse her entry! I realize the chances of her showing up at my house in Arizona is not high, but it’s the principle of the matter.

I would love ANY business or government officials to define what constitutes a ‘mask’.

I have an old catcher’s mask that I plan on using for the Karens and Ma$kholes.

More germs are spread on the hands and surfaces than any mask can prevent. Why not mandate gloves? Oh $hit, I just gave them an idea,

I wish the Blue Plate Cafe would do the same to Mayor Tommy Battle. I’ve seen him in there quite frequently.

“It would seem the ones with drive thrus could hang on there.”

Yeah, I imagine there are limits to how many can be inside at one time. I think people just aren’t as willing to go out to eat in general, esp if they have elderly/those with health condition at home.

What is likely to disappear forever if there’s no vaccine or surefire cure coming pretty quick are movie theatres. Even if they can open, you can’t make money with the seats only 20-50 percent full. Though even if they could have full seating, most people are going to balk at sitting so close to strangers for 2 hours.

As you said, sad times.
