Anything less than the N95 mask is worthless. The actual virus is much smaller than the weave of the mask. Like a friend of mine said, it’s like putting up a chain link fence to keep out mosquitoes. It’s all basically feel good bullshit.

I am thinking of selling masks made of large mesh screening materials. It meets the mask requirements.

When I was sewing masks, a few months back, I made one using tulle. 😬

I don’t get the mask thing for people dining in. They make you wear a mask when you go in, then you’re allowed to take your mask off to eat, and then have to put it back on again once you’re done? What the hell is that going to prevent? You’re mouth is chomping, and if you’re with a dining partner, you’re talking to them while you eat. I don’t usually eat out at restaurants anyway. The only three chain restaurants in my small city are Denny’s, Applebee’s and Moe’s, and I don’t go to any of them. The majority of chain dine-in restaurants are a half-hour away, and not worth the drive. I won’t ever be dining out again unless they lift the mandatory mask order here in New York State. I used to meet my friends once a month at Turning Stone Casino, which is near me. We’d eat at the buffet, and then play the slots for a few hours. They have a mandatory mask order in place. Some of the restaurants are open, but not the buffet. I won’t be going back until things go back to normal...if they ever do. I’m saving money in the long run.

California is apparently banning singing or chanting in Church even with only a handful of people in the church that could hold up to 300 people.

They need to put their pics up so employees recognize these cretins.
Print them out in wanted poster style.

I saw that, and at least three churches have filed suit against Newsom over it. I hope he gets his ass handed to him.

Ran into the Knoxville, TN Sam’s Club today. The order in Knoxville is that masks are required....I didn’t wear one and about 10% of the people I saw were likewise absent a mask. Sam’s Club had a sign on their entrance that said masks were required, except for health or religious reasons, so I walked right in. Nobody at the front door, including the deputy said anything to me.

Got some dirty looks, and few shocked looks like “how dare I not have a mask”, but otherwise; in and out in <30 minutes.

The mask is the new virtue signal, burka, whatever you want to call it; but I’m not interested in playing their stupid games.

Apweve done this all along.

We have our masks in the car. I gave up the mask in mom’s home and vice-versa, and in ILs home. We stopped that nonsense within a week.

Our masks are old toss-always. Honestly Idont care. How are they going to start checking to ensure everyone has the “right” kind?

I’ve thought next of dumping some stains on my mask to trigger some into asking about how old it is.

All the sanctimonious Karen’s might realize they’ve forgotten some aspects and insist gov ensure all have the correct type and that it’s been cleaned!

Hey, in this insane climate, including the BLM commie garbage, why not?

Here is what the N-95 is worth ... according to an RCT. (randomized controlled trial)

Masks Don't Work: A Review of Science Relevant to COVID-19 Social Policy

Here are key anchor points to the extensive scientific literature that establishes that wearing surgical masks and respirators (e.g., "N95") does not reduce the risk of contracting a verified illness:

Jacobs, J. L. et al. (2009) "Use of surgical face masks to reduce the incidence of the common cold among health care workers in Japan: A randomized controlled trial", American Journal of Infection Control, Volume 37, Issue 5, 417 - 419. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19216002

N95-masked health-care workers (HCW) were significantly more likely to experience headaches. Face mask use in HCW was not demonstrated to provide benefit in terms of cold symptoms or getting colds.

More RCT studies at the link. The "weave" in N-95s is also not small enough to exclude viruses. It is designed to exclude bacteria from entering wounds being treated by medical personnel.

Actually, an N95 mask is not safe either. Experts are warning the public against wearing certain types of N95 face masks with front valves. They say the masks protect the people wearing them but do not stop virus droplets from escaping and infecting others. The masks are designed for construction workers to use to keep out dust and other particles. But the virus on any particle small enough get through the mask either way, will.

The fixation with the N95 was badly projected as the CDC doesn’t recognize the mask, they recognize the N95 respirator and even those have problems. They shouldn’t be worn by those with pulmonary problems, facial hair, or children facial sizes.

There is only one type of mask that is completely safe, if worn right: a self contained breathing apparatus, scba, which totally seals outside air out and provides oxygen in a system like in a hazmet suit. No outside air gets in.

Course you can’t eat, drink, or touch anything inside the suit, so that is not workable for a normal life. You can survive in a suit like this for as long as the oxygen container provides. An industrial scba unit will run a little over $2000 and have, at the longest, about 60 minutes of breathing time. But it’s safe if worn correctly. Extra O2 cylinders run about $1700 each for the 60 minute unit and around $700, at the cheapest, for the 30 minute. Most, a lot more.

Wanna be an astronaut? A live one? Whip out the old mastercard and go scba. You are guaranteed to outlive those with facial masks. If you can afford it and put up with it. It costs so much money to use this you could afford to build a bubble house and live there. Kind of like the old bomb shelters of the 60’s. Who gets to come in? And how long before you’ve gotta pull a Donner when the food runs out. This thing is going to be “milked” for a generation.

You ever walk down an empty aisle in a grocery store and found yourself engulfed in the essence of a massive lingering fart by someone who has since moved to a different aisle?

Do you think it would smell less if you were walking in the other direction?

Like the re-useable bags the left have insisted on us using?

“E-Coli in a bag”? Because they don’t wash them?

A friend who has a jet powered sewing machine and the stamina of a long term runner, in the weekend after 13 March made hundreds of masks and gave them away.

I started wearing my mask when we had to, on that weekend.

My wife hand washed them every Saturday and dried them in the sun and wind of our deck.

Anyway as I posted, we ordered 50 from Amazon, to avoid the insane Maskholes / Karens. We started using them last Friday and one’s ear strap, sling broke yesterday.
