After my home burnt I was filled with peace knowing that we all were safe and even though I lost many precious things to me and the kids lost their keepsakes from childhood it was just stuff, stuff that we couldn’t take with us when we departed this world, we still had our memories.

A fire destroyed my husband's sister's home. Her house reminded me of yours. The cause of the fire was a desk lamp that they left on as a nightlight. The daughter was on the second floor of the house and couldn't go down the stairs because of the flames. She managed to crawl out of the window and onto the garage roof - a miracle she made it out alive. Their next house was completely modern. Praying for you, hoosiermama.
