Flubros and Flubras! Day 70 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Three days in a row of fewer than 800 deaths in USA. R is less than 1 as daily new cases are dropping.

This is really two diseases - the mostly benign version for people 65 and under and the potentially deadly version you see at nursing homes. A friend at a nursing home said that he had one asymptomatic staff member spread it to 22 out of 24 patients. 8 died there. They hired family members to help manage the patients. Tying this back to conservative principles - no abortion means more kids which means more people to take care of the elderly at home. Societies that are worst hit have abandoned the concept of family and require more nursing homes - Italy and Spain commonly have 4 grandparents producing 2 kids, who produce 1 grandchild. That type of pyramid is a disaster with Corona, and in many other ways. The dropping of Western world birth rates to below replacement levels is a disaster caused by people not acting naturally. God always forgives, people sometimes forgive, but nature never forgives.

It’s interesting how even nursing home mortality is lower in some locations versus others (NY and the northeast the worst). Haven’t followed treatment much but I would bet the treatment offered by NY nursing homes is worse than in other nursing homes.

And obviously - the Wuhan Nursing Home Flu shouldn’t continue to be used as an excuse to hold back healthy people!

“What’s in it for him?”

Many of these fearpers are in the crosshairs of this bug or they’re taking care of someone who is.

Mastered by fear they took the purely selfish, indecent, short-sighted, un American route in response to the pandemic and ginned up in their self-serving minds a justifying “threat”.

Now it isn’t just a question of admitting that they were wrong. They KNOW that they acted purely on fear and would have to admit that THAT over rode their sense of right and wrong.

It’s better to get this moral confrontation recognized and sorted when you’re young. It’s embarrassing and unseemly in people of more advanced age.

I took the data from Worldometer and imported it into a spreadsheet so I could see trends better. It's readily obvious that the stats people tend to slow down on weekends and make up for what they missed on Monday and (especially) Tuesday. Hence the wild Up/Down swings ever week. So to smooth that out, I did a simple 7 day moving average. That's showing a very nice nearly linear downward trend for the past three weeks. I would expect that because of the holiday the gret numbers over the weekend are a a little less great than reported and we'll see the usual Tuesday peak on Wednesday because of the extended weekend. If that doesn't happen then it's really great news.

Almost 20% of dead in NY were under 60.

No, and you're getting called out for that.

14.9% of the dead in NY were under age 60.

-see https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/views/NYS-COVID19-Tracker/NYSDOHCOVID-19Tracker-Fatalities?%3Aembed=yes&%3Atoolbar=no&%3Atabs=n

If you're going to quote numbers, get 'em correct.

I ran an analysis on the data from the CDC, looking at the daily death counts. It peaked at 16 Apr 20 (the same time your chart shows). Since then, there has been a statistically significant (p=0.0002) downward trend.

The time to open up the economy was weeks ago.

Interesting, the chart shows a increase in the decline precisely when people began to ignore the lockdown. It seems sunshine and fresh air truly works to “reduce the curve” better than lockdown.

If lockdown and social distancing worked there should have been a second increase of the disease trend.

Perhaps it really was just the flu, but the lockdown made it worse.

GREGG COUNTY — The Gregg County Sheriff’s Office updated the community on events regarding COVID-19 in jail facilities. According to our news partner KETK, mass testing for the virus was conducted for all staff and inmates at the north and south jail facilities on May 19. A total of 685 tests were administered. Results showed that all inmates housed at the south facility tested negative for COVID-19, but 38 inmates housed at the north jail facility tested positive for the virus. One jail staff member tested positive, but there was no information regarding which facility they work at. The Sheriff’s Office also mentioned all the inmates and the staff member are asymptomatic. All positive inmates are being closely monitored and the staff member has been placed on leave pending a negative test result.

38 asymptomatic cases in one jail. We've been had.

Wayne County, NC has recorded over 1,000 cases of coronavirus. As of Tuesday morning’s update from Wayne County Government, there have been 1,028 total positive cases of COVID-19 in Wayne County. 469 of those cases came from the Neuse Correctional Institution and 69 cases were attributed to other congregate care living facilities.

Of the 469 cases at the prison, 98% were reported as asymptomatic.

We've been snookered.

It would appear so. As Exhibit B I present this little nugget from a nearby thread.

:: Until there is a law saying that private businesses must admit people without masks ::

In the same manner that person is innocent until proven guilty, there must necessarily be a law (regulation) that businesses REQUIRE masks for accommodation.
Not the negative.
Laws that regulate a negative are not laws.
Health department regulations REQUIRE shoe sand shirts be worn in food service businesses.

Agreed, and if they go out of business due to being shut down, they should accept the consequences.

Yes, I've been saying this for weeks on the thread, yet some simply would rather argue. Either resist the slow death of oppressive government, or stop complaining. Either comply with a business mask rule, or don't go in. I don't like where we are, but we're all noise and little action.

Makes sense — in some perverted way.

“It’s embarrassing and unseemly in people of more advanced age.”

Especially in alleged conservatives.

No Shoes No Shirts No Fags ?

We have laws that prohibit discrimination against fags. Therefore, fags must be admitted. I should have been a little clearer in my initial post by adding, "unless there is a law that prohibits whatever condition a property owner would like to impose." Any such law must pass constitutional muster, of course. Usually, they are based on the equal protection clause. Unmasked persons are not members of a protected class so can legally be excluded from private property.

Nope. As a private business I am free to exclude whomever I want as long as it does not violate a law requiring that those people not be discriminated against. Any business can require masks whether or not it is mandated to do so.

“He plays fast and loose with the truth.”

True. But I don’t get why he’s married to these hoax numbers, and the whole hoax in general. What’s in it for him?

He was on another thread with the hockey stick and several others that have faded away, but kojak found the pimp and then started with his family portrait and the numbers.

As more Freepers realized what a hoax this is and started to criticize kojak, he took it personally and is now just defending his 'honor'.

I don't believe that kojak is a bad guy, it's just if you live your life with your head up your own ass, and then post pictures of it, not only does your breath stink, the fumes screw with your brain.

Kojak has become so inflamed that he will stay to the end, and when he quits posting the family portrait, he won't have the balls to stay on FR unless he does a screen name change.

I feel sorry for kojak.
