This is a big top off weekend for us. Cases are ticking up around here. Fuel, batteries, food. Our goal is to have 6 months worth of supplies by October, bit by bit.

Being prepared does the exact opposite of making me fearful, it makes me feel calm. I know we are going to be exposed at some point, then is no escaping that. I’m at peace with that. I just want it to be late in the game when hopefully tptb know a lot more about this virus and how to treat it.

I also know that God is control. But God also expects me to use common sense. He is not anti-prepping, I.e., Noah’s ark, Joseph’s silos for the 7 years of famine, etc.

“Well, yes, when I do go back to work on-site — sometime within the next few months, I guess — I will take care to wipe off the desk, keyboards and computer mice when I take over from the previous shift.”

That’s always a smart thing. But other than that, I don’t worry much about getting the virus from contact, about the only step that I do take is letting the mail and packages sit for 24 hours and washing my hands after touching anything from the outside.

I’m much more concerned with getting near people who are spewing virons, and I’ll have to make some decisions because the PandaBros at work are making more and more noises about getting things ‘back to normal’.

“True...But ONE country, specifically, taxes children. Except for that first one. That first one is allowed.”

Agree, China of course, and now they’re paying the price (men/women ratio) and many, many, others may pay the price for China’s policies too.

*** My county doubled the cases the past couple weeks and see we have another case reported this morning. Yeah, opening up sure helped - not. ***

We got another one here Friday, so 5 new ones in 3 days.

Went to WM very early this am. Saw 3 other shoppers. They had masks on. Bought 2 cans of microban sanitizing spray, and a small can of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. Purchase of the wipes was 2 per customer yesterday, but today, it was one per customer.

I’d target a sooner deadline than October, maybe the end of June, as it doesn’t take long to see the results of the PandaBros taking over. I started prepping in mid-Jan, with the Wuhan lockdown, as it didn’t make sense to me how we could be safe from the virus, and yet still have tens of thousands of people coming in daily. Then, we finally slow the Chinese deluge and instead ignore Europe, particularly Italy. So, as our idiocy lasted longer and longer, I figured we’d be hit harder and harder, so I bought more and more stuff. At this point, I’m out of stuff to buy. We have about 30 cubic feet of freezers packed full, mainly with meat, for example.

Stripper ..don’t pay child support..?

You sound like a raving nut job!
My mom is dead. We didn’t ship her off to a nursing home..we took care of her until the end. You really sound mental.

This was my initial reaction, before all the other possible reasons for Trump's turnaround occurred to me and others:

The poll numbers were down among members of Trump's base

Way to go. Let's get the resurgence blamed on the evangelicals.

I don’t think getting back to near-normal is a bad idea. I was hoping we could do it more gradually, but the government bungling at both the federal and state levels, in terms of tests, conmingling of types of tests, getting the unemployment and other relief out in a timely manner, and so on, means basically, as other people have put it on these threads, we are on our own.

The best thing the governors can do for us right now is to get us back open safely and swiftly. Even Governor Wolfbane (PA) seems to be realizing this imperative. On the other hand, Murphy (NJ), Whitmer (MI), Bi-Karen (OR) and Hogan (MD) don’t seem to care that much.

As for work, I could telework forever, since my campus is now requiring masks to work on site. Believe me, I understand their efficacy and will wear them in enclosed public places for the time being, but that doesn’t mean that I have to LIKE them.

While people in my town are being responsible (central MD) without being excessively cautious, it seems that bgill’s neighbors have been toking on the FluBro bong.

We also have a freezer full, and a garden and chickens and farm, so if I never bought another thing we would be ok. That’s why it’s called topping off lol. Little things like extra mustard, baking powder, etc.

From Dr. Coates posts.

More information on Hydroxychloroquine for prophylaxis of Covid-19?

“In Mumbai they decided to offer all police officers over 40 hydroxychloroquine for prophylaxis of Covid-19. Out of 10,000 police officers 4,500 choose to go ahead and use the hydroxychloroquine. So far 618 officers who refused treatment have contracted Covid-19 and unfortunately 9 have since died from Covid-19. In the HCQ group none have died they did say a few have contracted the disease but had only very mild symptoms. There has been no reported side effects in the treatment group. Once again this is technically anecdotal information but looks promising.”
