No surprise there. Hair stylists work within inches of their clients. Stupid is as stupid does. Death or a new haircut, decisions, decisions.
Food and food containers were supposed to magically reject all virus. Anyone with more than one brain cell should have known better. If that were the case, why were food employees supposed to wash their hands long before CV? Why did we bother having health inspections of restaurants? Come one people, WAKE UP!

Our leaders still tout this as just the sniffles. You don’t get morbidity with the sniffles, folks.
My county keeps ticking up on cases. It’s not slowing down.

But just how ‘closed’ is the economy when people can’t go to bars, eat out, go to movie theaters, can’t shop (but can still buy on-line, or curbside), can’t go to museums or national parks or beaches, can’t work in the office (but can do the same work on-line) or fly across the ocean.
I’m willing to concede the obvious - huge displacement for people employed in those areas (directly and indirectly), and not as many ways to spend our money. But are we really shutdown.
But if you want a shutdown - think EMP, when nothing moves, including food, water, and electrons (i.e., electrical power). Now that’s a shutdown!

The professional talking heads of all political stripes are not doing well at all. All of them are spreading misinformation by the truckload. Their biggest mistake is they are afraid to say “they don’t know” when they don’t have access to facts. They would have done a lot better in 2020 if they just followed the old maxim:
“Tis better to remain silent and thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt.”

That does fit. After all, China was telling us for months that we didn’t need to wear masks, and just like anyone who bothered to pay attention to Wuhan knew, we got the same, huge, outbreak as China. It was only after we started to ignore China’s ‘advice’ that the rate of growth slowed at all.
Someone who is dealing with the public and knowingly exposes people to something like this, should be brought up on charges.
This is one case where I don’t have much problem with pulling her liicense.

Not me, Rush was NAILING IT regarding the Left long before virtually anyone on our side could deal with it. Now some can, but mainly thanks to Rush. And I knew from day one, in 1989, that Rush was nailing it, because what he was saying matched, perfectly, what I saw in college, when I lived at Ground Zero, in the most extreme dormitory on campus, and actually made an effort to research them.
As I told people what the Left stood for and what their ultimate goals for this country were, they thought I was literally insane. To them, they simply could not see a reason why any American would ever want to see our entire system here destroyed. Now, in huge part thanks to Rush, many people, particularly here, fully understand Pelosi, Sheumer, and that entire bunch. They understand is not two sides with ‘good intentions’, but differing on how to get there, but rather one side that wants the other side jailed or, preferably, dead.

You know, the CDC folks change their minds enough that I plan to keep on erring on the side of caution. I’m still letting packages sit a few days, and wiping everything down.

I saw the same here at a market in my part of Texas. Not necessary FluBros, just rank and file people hearing about the state re-opening and figuring we’re past that ‘mask-thing’.
Bottom line: More lockdowns and breakouts are coming, time to STOCK UP, now, while people thinking it’s over.
Yep. Here in GA the traffic to my husband’s business is the same as before they opened back up. Sales during the lockdown were close to pre-covid days (after they got into a groove with the new way of doing things).
I think the people screaming the loudest about the economy must have been in businesses that were directly affected, i.e., travel, etc.
But according to some, it is her right to go out and spread her viral load to all those people. Her right!!! /s

Not really taxing in that the government gets the money, but virtually every Western country has the same deal with kids: You have them, spend a fortune on them until they are age 22 (both directly and indirectly by not being able to work full-time), and then they go away without ever paying you back.
In older societies: You have them, spend a fortune on them (relatively speaking) until they’re about age 12, get some use out of them for a while, then they have their own families, but they also pay you back by taking care of you as you get older.
...and then we wonder why people in the West don’t want kids.
True.
But ONE country, specifically, taxes children. Except for that first one. That first one is allowed.
It’s a recent thing though, prior to about 10 years ago, there were NO second children for the most part.
